“Precious?” he begins. Her wide eyes meet his, shrouded in hesitance at his tone. “We have to go home today, but we promise to bring you back soon.”

Her eyes flash briefly with sadness before she shakes it away. “Maybe next time, we can all come?” she suggests sweetly.

The thought of all of us here together, her and Leera lying on the beach, sipping drinks and laughing while the guys try to learn how to surf, sounds perfect.

Once we’ve showered together and put ourselves back together in the other night’s clothes, we hurry back to the vacation home to get all of our things.

“Remember when Dolos went missing for a bit?” he asks as he runs his fingers over her cheek.

She blushes furiously and nods, remembering them torturing me.

“Well, while the two of you tortured me,” I say with mock offense, “I was at a local jeweler who specialized in custom works,” I continue as her eyes widen, blushing again.

“We wanted you to have something special from us, from the island,” he continues as I pull out the necklace we had made.

She gasps, her eyes filling with tears, her fingers tracing the design. Two waves coming together—one angry, one calm. Three sea turtles, all made with turquoise inlaid to match her bracelet. “It’s perfect,” she whispers, her voice watery with her unshed tears.

“You’re perfect,” my twin and I say in unison as I help her put on her necklace and we settle in for the long flight back to our family.
