“Uh, why?” Tony asked. “We take a lot of pictures with our work.”
He laughed.
“No, not those kinds of photos, Doctor Magnus. Callen doesn’t want Elizabeth getting a hold of pictures of the inside until it’s done, and so his ass gets kicked.”
They both found that amusing.
Well, that made sense.
“If I see you taking pictures of the inside of the castle, I’ve been authorized to kick your ass.”
Well, that was a hard no for Tony. The guy looked to be in good shape, and had tats. He was willing to bet he was a soldier at one time—since the Blackhawks favored them to protect their assets, and asses.
“As Chris said,‘loose lips will sink their ships’,” Tony stated. “I’ll comply—this once,” he added.
Oh, there was no shock there.
Gabby was curious.
To be a Fed, you kind of had to be.
“This book…can we see it? It might help us with identifying the remains, and giving them a place to rest. Since Tony does the bone thing, I’m more the researcher. That’s my role.”
He didn’t mind helping them out.
“Gryphen and Ian placed it in the library. Help yourself, but please return it if you read it elsewhere. That’s the only historical context we have.”
She understood.
Graham continued.
“Construction has begun on the tower. It was sealed off for the longest time. Usually, when there is construction, it stirs up the past. If you see anything that can be put in the book in the library, let me know. Keep your eyes open. Letters have appeared everywhere.”
She kept asking questions, and hoped he didn’t get annoyed.
“How did the book get ruined?” Gabby asked.
He was honest.
“We don’t know. Pages are just ripped out, and scattered all over the place. Ian and Gryphen found quite a few. We don’t know too much about the Granndachs at that point. We knowthey never had girls, and that Ceit cursed the bloodline with some black magic.”
This.
Was.
Fascinating.
Gabby was tickled pink to be here to experience this. She couldn’t wait to roam around.
This was totally an adventure.
This was going to make her life. She could already tell that.
“How about we get your things in, have a meal, and then, I can take you into town for some fun. Later, you can get some rest because you have to be so tired. Tomorrow will come soon enough. Oh, and we already had an issue regarding your work here.”
They got out, and Gabby let Bark Twain out of his carrier.
Immediately, he began running in circles, barking.
