That was the last thing he wanted said, and he saw red. Finn was rarely prone to temper, but Rosie had gone too far. Gabby was perfect.

She had curves and her body was all he thought about.

To get some space, he shoved her out of the booth, and wanted to do something irrational.

Rosie landed on her ass, gasped, and got up. Then, she slapped him.

EVERYONEstared.

As Catherine tried to get up, she couldn't. She was beaten to the punch.

Gabby was up, she grabbed the woman’s hand, spun her, and slammed her head onto the table as she bent her arm behind her back, making her yelp.

“Listen up, you twiggy-ass cuntwaffle,” she said, finding her inner Elizabeth to protect her man. “The next time you put your hands on him, it better be to thank him for stopping me from beating your ass. Because if I ever see you slap my man again, I’m going to rip off your hands, shove them up your ass so you clap when you fart!”

She fought to get up.

Rosie was calling her all kinds of names, and she didn’t care.

But she did want to shut her up.

Turning her head, she saw the waitress behind the counter staring in horror, and she had an idea.

“Scone,” she said, and the waitress tossed her one.

After catching it, Gabby shoved it in Rosie’s mouth, and pulled her up. She walked her to the door of the restaurant, kicked the door open, and shoved her out onto her ass.

Rosie landed on the cobblestone pavement with a gasp.

“Next time, you Irish nightmare, it’s my goddamn boot. No one touches my man, and I’ll show you why Americans have the reputation we have when it comes to violence!”

She pulled the restaurant door closed, brushed the scone crumbs off of her hands, and headed back to the table.

As she did,EVERYONEclapped. This morning was breakfast and a show, apparently.

As she sat down, she looked over at the waitress.

“I’ll pay for the scone.”

When she focused on the two siblings, they were both staring at her. At first, she was sure she angered Finn, but then, the funniest thing happened.

Catherine turned her head and kissed her squarely on the mouth. When she broke the kiss, she hugged her.

This woman was perfect for her brother, and more so, perfect to be her new sister.

“Welcome to the family,” she said, grinning at her brother. “He’s going to fuck you stupid later. That was the hottest thing he’s ever seen. He won’t even need the girly mags.”

Gabby tucked her badge away, and food was put on the table.

“Sorry about that spectacle,” she said. “But hands are not for hitting,” she admitted, reaching across the table to touch his red cheek.

He smiled at her.

Then, he knew when the right time was.

It.

Was.
