“I want you to sleep near me. I don’t want you to be alone. I don’t like any of this. I’m concerned, Gabriella. I don’t buy into crazy ghost nonsense, but we all heard that voice at Ceit’s grave, and I watched that shelf be pushed. There was no wind, and everything was on it for a long ass time. It opted to fall just then? If that’s not bad enough, I heard the voice in the water, and it said one thing to me.‘Punishment’. Something bad is going on here.”

Yep.

She was worried.

“The journal saying the castle is haunted…I think opening the crypt set something free. I think it stirred the evil back up, and then add bringing Ceit back into the castle…”

Oh, he got it.

Only, he hoped that wasn’t the case.

“Then, we had better get our shit together and figure out this next part of the mystery. You said Gryphen and Ian got the first part handled, so maybe we need to read over those letters and figure this out. Maybe we need to find out who this shadow is, and if he killed Ceit.”

She agreed.

“Now?” she asked.

He lifted a brow.

Well, his erection was telling him that work could wait a few minutes. Making love to her again couldn’t.

“Have you ever skinny dipped in really cold water and made love under a waterfall?”

She blinked.

At first, he thought she’d say no. God knew Rosie had for so many adventures he brought up.

Oh, but not his sweet Gabby.

“No. Is that an option?” she asked. “Can we do it now?”

Was it an option?

Hell.

Yes.

Finn could make that happen. Scooping her up, he tossed her over his very naked shoulder and ran them down to the water. When he got there, he was grateful it was warmer than the lake had been.

Then, he dove in, taking them both under the spray of water. When they came back up on the other side, he kept her warm.

And filled her again.

Because now, he had another mission.

Finn McKnight had to keep the lady alive and safe, so he could make her his wife.

And the mother of all of his children.

Chapter Eight

The Castle

Before Dinner

When they finished freezing their asses off in the waterfall, they got back on Romeo, and returned to the castle. Oh, and both of them got quite the stares from Tony and Graham as they walked inside.

Then again, who could blame them? They were a mess with their wet hair, and laughter.
