“If he’s here, and he’s rooting around NOLA, it might be too late.”

Now, that she’d told him most of it, she felt better. Getting that off her chest helped.
“I still think we should do this, since there are soldiers who died, but I don’t think I should do this. I may have to stay inside and lay low. He doesn’t know any of you. I’m the problem here. It’s me.”

“I was looking for the miracle fairy. She dropped a big one in my lap. My crazy wife just opted to sit one out. How does one thank the fairy for that?”

“I mean, don’t enjoy this too much, and the fairy thing is weird, Irish man. Just saying.”
He actually laughed.
As for enjoying it…

“Baby, you can stay in, and you can work this behind the scenes.The BlackStone Groupis messy, and if the owner knows you, then we play it safe. That’s a no-brainer. We can take Boone out instead of you. It doesn’t affect us personally, so sit this one out.”

“Will you be safe?” she asked.
