“What if Mateo wants one too?”

“He can.”

“But you want yours first.”

“As I said, I’ll fucking tie him up and let him watch.”

Once she was steady enough, Ezra washed her from head to toe. His strokes were tender, with nothing sexual about them. When her entire body was clean, he wrapped her in a soft towel and then carried her to her room. He stood by patiently while she dried off, then kneaded lotion into her skin, from her shoulders to her hands and all the way to her toes.

She leaned down and kissed his forehead once he was done. “Thank you.”

“Only the best treatment for our princess.”

In the kitchen, she joined Mateo and helped him cook breakfast for all of them. They had some time before the guys needed to hunt, so they took advantage of their free time to explore the village. The mountain air was cool, but luckily Scarlett had planned for that. She selected a long-sleeved dress, putting tights on underneath.

Their cabin was up on an incline, overlooking the village with all its half-timbered houses. It was like something right out of a movie, with the main street part shops and part restaurants. The tourist centre was their first stop, with Mateo asking the rugged-looking man for hiking routes that ran close to the lycans’ hideout—not that he said it out loud.

“I wouldn’t recommend these trails for newbies,” the man said, accusatory eyes resting on Scarlett.

She only laughed and picked up a brochure for beginners. “Look, they have one that’s only a few hours long.”

Ezra stepped between her and the man, looking over her shoulder. “I would carry you to the end of the world if necessary.”

“What a generous offer, but then all the money you spent on my new outdoor clothes would’ve been wasted.”

“Money is never wasted on you.”

“Is that a dare I hear in there?”

Vince appeared as well, peering over her shoulder. “The one along the cliffs might have a good view. But it’ll be rather steep.”

“We might test Ezra’s offer after all. But I don’t want to bore you guys.”

“You never bore us,” Ezra reassured with a kiss to her neck.

Once they left, Mateo grinned at her and weaved their fingers together. “We will be the new talk of the town.”

“Not us,” Ezra disagreed. “Her.”

“I think what Mateo meant was our rather unique constellation.”

Mateo chuckled lightly and kissed her hair. “Three men and one woman—we’ll give the pearl-clutchers a heart attack.”

“I’m sure everyone here fucks their cousin.”

“Maybe we shouldn’t blurt out such statements in public, Ezra,” she scolded, but stretched to kiss his cheek anyway.

Ezra rolled his eyes, and she turned to see if Vince was still behind them. Though she knew he’d always have her back, he tended to do so out of sight.

But Vince smiled at her, spreading warmth through her chest. She loved this, being surrounded by them and knowing how easy it was for them to show the world how much they adored her.

Even if it did get the rumour mill going.

Chapter Thirty-Four

Vince

After walking through the village, the four of them settled at a small café. Scarlett seemed completely amazed by her new surroundings, her eyes wide as she tried to take it all in. Vince could see her spending the next few weeks sampling the menu at each restaurant on the strip to find her favourites.
