“What? Hell no. I was just…”
“Proceeding to get at a woman who clearly doesn’t want you.”
“I didn’t have time to figure that out,” DiMarco stated.
“It was clear the moment you walked up to her. Now, let’s go.”
“What’s the meaning of this, Armond?”
Armond. Hmmm. That is definitely fitting.
“Would you like to further your embarrassment in front of this gorgeous woman?” His eyes met mine for a split second then went back to him. “Or would you…”
“Excuse us,” DiMarco said to me then walked off with his head lowered, his speed increasing with each step.
Armond winked at me with that same smirk then swiftly turned around and shot DiMarco in the leg then back. The actions made me blush then gasp suddenly. There was no way this gorgeous man would kill a man out in the open like this, right?
“Running will never get you anywhere fast,” Armond said as he snatched DiMarco up.
I looked at the bartender and he smiled. He was enjoying the show whereas I was mortified. Armond dragged this man across the beach by his shirt and through a pathway. Before he could fully disappear, he looked my way. When he noticed I was still watching, he winked at me again. At least I think he did. He was a little far away, but that tilt of his head was very clear.
“Looks like the owner likes you,” the bartender said.
“The owner?”
“Of this resort, yes.”
“Wow. No wonder he didn’t care about that display in public.”
The bartender chuckled before saying, “Oh, I’ve seen worse since I started working here. If he likes you then that’s a great thing.”
“And if he didn’t?”
“Ah, who knows? It depends on whether you do something to piss him off or not. He’s a great man regardless though. Just hates people playing games.”
Yeah, that sounds like me. I tilted my head to the side as I contemplated his words. Part of me wanted to get on his nerves to see if he’d turn off those clear feelings of lust for me. I had to be careful, because though I was terrified of what just happened, I was equally intrigued.

I HATE WASTING MY TIME. Hated dealing with insubordinate individuals. Even more so, dealing with ignorant, disloyal, maggots who didn’t know how to stay in their lane.
Dragging DiMarco’s stupid ass across the entire pool area didn’t help the frustration I’d built regarding him. I could’ve let one of my guards handle him, but he was right there, accessible. No point in bringing them in until it was deemed necessary. Though I’d received the call about our stolen products being retrieved, knowing the people on the receiving end of the transaction got a little under my skin. The deceit was insurmountable and DiMarco was a damn fool. He would’ve been dead by the end of the night anyhow.
Two of my security guards took over and grabbed DiMarco as I approached my destination. We made our way to the underground quarters I had at the resort. I didn’t need a warehouse or discreet dwelling to play out my mission. I had an entire resort to do what the hell I wanted when I wanted. Even on vacation.
I watched as they tied him up and threw him into a chair centered in the room we occupied. I didn’t need to do anythingbut stand there while he pleaded with his eyes but wouldn’t dare say a word. He knew what this was and there was no need to draw it out with a wordy explanation. I honestly wanted to throw him in the incinerator and be done with it.
“You chose to go against the devil and look where it’s gotten you, in a soundproof room with his demons. What happens next is on you,” I said.
“You don’t understand…” DiMarco chimed in. I halted his words with a raise of my hand.
I flipped my hand and my men proceeded to whoop DiMarco’s ass. With each blow that made blood spew from his mouth, I grinned wider while I stared a hole into him. He would often look at me with such angst, but his swollen eyes were soon closed. No amount of pleading with his eyes would save him. He went to the one man who could get a rise out of me, and for that alone, he had to die.
I’d deal with my father later.
Come morning I found myself making my way to the beach since I overheard a couple of ladies speaking about a yoga class they were about to attend. After the night I had, I needed nothing more than to stretch these muscles and push my father out of my mind.
