“Yes.”

“I guess I need to make sure I stay over here until I catch this flight later,” he said, completely making me shut down at his news.

“Are you coming back?” I finally asked.

“You have what? Two days remaining here?”

“Yes.”

“Then unfortunately, mama, I won’t be back, but I do want to link up with you once you’re back home if you’re willing to give a guy a chance. I know your boy put a bad taste in your mouth, but I promise you I’m nothing like that fool.”

“You don’t even know where I live, Armond.”

“I expect you to tell me, and honestly, it doesn’t matter. I’ll fly wherever you are.”

“I’d like that. I think you’ve proven yourself worthy on more than one occasion,” I teased.

“Oh yeah?” He closed the space between us and wrapped his arms around my waist.

“Yep. Sure have.”

“Hmph. Well then plant them lips on me and show me how much you’ll miss your man,” he replied.

I smirked then did just that. I wasn’t claiming him yet, but shit, since he wanted to claim me, I’d give him this kiss. I missed his soft ass lips anyway.

After a couple minutes of a serious tongue tango, we pulled apart and I climbed into my bed. I pulled the comforter to make room for him and he kicked his slides off, pulled his tank off, and climbed right in. He lay on his back then pulled me to rest on his chest.

“I like you right here,” he said, then kissed the top of my head.

“I like being right here,” I replied.

He tucked his arm around me and kissed me again. I exhaled slowly and found the most comfortable position against him. Shortly after, I found my eyes getting heavy and I finally dozed off to sleep.

“WHY DO YOU LOOK SO sad, girl? These past couple days have been nothing but fun and luxurious, cheer up,” Marsha said as she joined me by the pool. She extended a mixed drink toward me and I welcomed it quickly.

It wasn’t that I was sad, only lacking excitement, lacking the feeling of Armond’s presence. He’d left before I woke up and I was missing his warmth. Though I talked to him through text and a couple phone calls, it was nothing like him being in my face. I guess I did have a cloud hovering over me all around the place apart from our yoga sessions.

“Nothing, girl,” I replied after taking a long sip of my drink.

“Mmhmm, okay. You were sulky as hell in our last session. Thank goodness it was hot yoga in a dark space,” Marsha said. I guess I was wrong about that. I couldn’t find any reason to have comfort knowing Jeffrey had been watching me while I was here and now my one protector was gone.

“Why are you coming for me?”

“Because you haven’t been the same since everything went down. What’s up with you?”

“I miss him,” I murmured.

The laughter that filled the air was the exact reason I hadn’t said anything to begin with. She’d judge and piss me off. I already had to go back to my world with her attached, I didn’t need her frying me crispy the entire plane ride home.

“Shut up,” I finally said.

“Oh, I’m going to laugh because this is the same hoe who claimed she would never entertain a man again. To the point where I thought you were gonna bump coochies with Stella. Girl, bye,” Marsha stated.

I couldn’t help but laugh at her. There was no way I could get through this conversation sober. I was glad she brought me a drink. Once I contained my giggles, I took a huge gulp. She was making me equally self-conscious and annoyed, but the hilarity was winning me over.
