“I said…you always do it for me, but I have an idea for our next adventure.”

I raise an eyebrow and smirk. “Enlighten me.” An adventure in the bedroom? I’m up for that.

“How about I show you?”

She spins on her heels and sashays toward our room, walking past the furniture stacked in the hallway.

I notice three new mirrors and my eyes widen. It looks like we’re definitely going to have a few new bedroom adventures, and I’m not at all mad about it.

When Hayley reaches the bed, it’s my turn to take over. It’s what she likes best.

“Get on the bed with your legs spread. You’re going to fill me in while I fill you.”

She visibly melts as I grin. “Yes, sir.” She nods, crawling onto the bed and spinning to face me.

“Before we start?” She scrunches her nose, biting down on the tip of her finger. “How long have we got before your parents get here?”

Goddammit. My parents. I’d forgotten about that.

“Remind me why I wanted them to move to San Francisco?”

“So you could protect them from your brother, and so they’d be around when we decide to raise a family.”

“Fuck. Both good answers. But did they have to come today?”

After her life-changing speech, Hayley assumed my parents would actually sit down and talk to my brother, and that he’d miraculously show up at the hospital a changed man.

Bless her heart.

And we thought I was the optimistic one.

In my brother’s case, I am convinced that some people never change, or more to the point, some people don’t want to. And that is Jace.

But while Jace might still be an asshole, he no longer has the same control over my mom, and that's made all the difference. For everyone involved.

Hayley holds the pink vibrator up in front of me and smoothly raises her perfectly manicured brow. “This beauty isn’t on loan, Reed.” She waves the vibrator through the air. “We’ve got plenty of time.” She’s quick to stifle her grin but it’s too late; she’s already sassed me. Checking the time, I note we have an hour before my parents arrive, and that’s plenty of time. But I don’t want to rush it.

“Spread your legs.” I remind her of my earlier demand. “I want to fuck that dripping pussy before I take your phenomenal ass. And we’ve only got fifty-eight minutes.”

“Fifty-eight?” Hayley sucks in a breath, her eyes wide with wonder. “That’s plenty of time.”

“Not with what I have planned. You’re not the only one with ideas.”

Her lips part but she recovers quickly and smiles. “I knew there was a reason I loved you.”

“That and my charm.” I laugh before diving on the bed and pulling her into me, crashing my lips to hers.

EPILOGUE TWO

Hayley

TWO YEARS LATER

Reed’s mom, Molly, fawns over the new piece of jewelry adorning my finger, and I smile with pride. I never would have guessed that when I met the NFL’s golden boy almost four years ago that I’d be standing here today, engaged and planning a ridiculously over-the-top wedding.

“He did good,” she says with a quiver in her voice. “I’m so happy you’re joining the family.”

“Hey now,” Reed interjects as he walks into the kitchen where his mom and I are baking, something we started doing together to bond. “Hayls has been a part of the family for a long time.”
