I smile, trailing my fingers down her arms, raising goosebumps on her skin. I spin her chair around so she’s facing me, then I kneel in front of her, my hands resting on her thighs.
“Finn...” she starts, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Shh,” I murmur, my thumbs drawing circles on her inner thighs. “Just let me make you feel good, Nyx.”
She bites her lip, her eyes searching mine. Whatever she sees there makes her nod, her legs parting slightly to give me better access. I smile, my heart pounding in my chest as I lean in to kiss her.
Her lips are soft and sweet, and she tastes like the peppermint tea she was drinking earlier. I deepen the kiss, my tongue teasing hers, my hands sliding up her thighs to grip her hips. She moans softly and sinks her fingers into my hair.
It’s incredible to know she’s as affected by me as I am by her. It makes me feel powerful. Fortunate. I nip her lip and trail mykiss down her jaw to her neck, licking and sucking the sensitive skin in my wake.
She gasps, her head falling back to give me better access. “Finn,” she breathes, her voice shaky. “Wait… I want to give you something.”
I chuckle against her flesh. “That’s my line, baby. I want to give you something. Something you’re really going to like. It’s big and hard and only for you.”
She laughs and leans back in her chair. “Pause that thought. I need to show you something first.”
She swivels the desk chair back to face her laptop, and I shift my attention to the screen. She pulls up a file, and I can see it’s filled with names, properties, bank accounts, shipping routes, product suppliers—all related to Gravely’s operations.
“What is that?” I ask, my eyes scanning the data.
“It’s everything,” she says, looking up at me. “Everything I have on Gravely, plus a full dossier on the workings of the McGuire territory. I promised I’d help you if you saved Gio. You held up your end of the deal, so this is me holding up mine.”
I’m stunned. This is more than just helpful. This is game-changing.
With this information, we can take down Gravely and secure our hold on all of Dublin. I can’t believe she’s giving this to me—to us.
“Nyx, baby… This is... thank you. My mind is blown.”
She smiles, but it’s a sad smile. “It’s the least I can do. After everything you’ve done for me and Gio.”
I pull her up out of the chair, wrapping my arms around her. “You’re amazing, you know that?”
She laughs softly, her arms wrapping around my waist. “It’s not totally selfless. I want to burn Gravely’s world to the ground.”
“I know, but it’s more than that. You’re a badass keyboard warrior and while my brothers might not understand just how talented you are, I do.”
Her gaze softens, and she reaches up to cup my cheek. “You say that like you weren’t right there challenging me for every keystroke.”
I suppose that’s true. “And while I love my family, I never felt like they saw me. Who I was down to my core. You’re the only person who has ever looked at me like you get me… not as a Quinn brother, but as Finn. Just Finn.”
Staring into my eyes, I see her emotions warring within, her eyes shining with unshed tears. “I see you, Finn. I’ve always seen you.”
I lean in to kiss her again. This time, it’s slow and sweet, a promise of more to come. I scoop her up into my arms, carrying her to the bed. I lay her down gently, my body covering hers. Everything else fades away because she’s mine, and I’m hers. And that’s all that matters.
Nyx
I’m lying beneath Finn, our bodies pressed together, our breaths mingling as he trails kisses down my neck. His touch is tender, reverent, as if I’m something precious to be cherished. I feel his intention in every caress, every soft press of his lips against my skin.
His hands explore my body, tracing the curves and valleys, the planes and softness. I shiver as his fingertips brush the fabric of my shirt, trailing down the side of my breast. His thumbcircles the peak of my nipple, drawing out a gasp from deep within me.
He smiles against my skin, his breath warm and damp, sending shivers down my spine.
I breathe deeply and the unique scent that is Finn makes my mouth water and my head spin. It’s a mix of clean sweat, the faint hint of his expensive cologne, and something else, something that is purely him.
It’s intoxicating, and I breathe him in, filling my senses, my mind, my soul.
His mouth claims mine, his tongue teasing the seam of my lips. I open for him and our tongues dance. He tastes like champagne and strawberries.
