—In meeting. Can it wait?

Andrew wanted Alan to take care of things now, but it had already been a month.Sure, after the meeting is fine.

He hit send. A police car pulled up. He’d have to wait to text Deidre.

A nagging feeling told him he should text her now. He stared at his screen. No, he was letting his feelings for Jordan cause him to overreact.

There was rarely a need to contact the client in situations like this. Panicky principals were harder to protect. Jordan was on set with Deidre and the team. No wonder Adam quit being September’s protection. Love messed with the thought process.

“Miss Lee, Paul wants to film the snow scene up at the mansion tonight.” Kittie came into the trailer with a parka and the rest of the wardrobe for the scene.

Jordan took a deep breath. “I thought he was going to shoot day for night.”

Kittie shrugged. “I guess he figured he had one chance.”

“Thanks, Kittie. I’ll be out in a minute.”

Jordan waited until Kittie left the trailer to talk to Deidre. “Sorry about this. I didn’t know. Trust Paul to make a last-minute change.”

“I assume he isn’t planning on moving the trailer up there.” Deidre leashed Princess. “I’ll send her back to the house with someone.”

Jordan changed into snow pants and a sweater. She was thinking she needed to send a message to Andrew when someone pounded on the side of the trailer. A cold wind slammed into her as she opened the door.

Kittie waited for her. “The car is over here. Hurry.”

Trying to tug on the parka, Jordan followed Kittie to the SUV, where Rod sat in the driver’s seat. Jordan climbed in. She didn’t even have her seat belt fastened when Rod pulled out of the lot.

“Hey, we need to wait—”

“I was told to get you there as soon as possible.” Rod turned onto the highway leading north.

Jordan twisted in her seat to see if another car was following them. “Did Storm already leave?”

“He left a couple hours ago,” answered Kittie, handing Jordan her reusable water bottle.

“Thanks.” Something was wrong. Jordan took a long drink, then pulled her phone out of her pocket.

Kittie snatched it away.

“Aglet.”

“What did you say?” asked Rod.

“Aglet. Kittie broke my aglet.” The Hastings app better be listing.

Andrew dustedthe snow off his windshield before climbing into his car. As soon as his phone connected with the system, he called Deidre, but her phone went straight to voicemail, so he called dispatch.

“Can you put me on with Alan and Deidre?”

“They’re already on a call. Can you hold a minute?”

“Tell them I have critical information.”

“One minute.”
