“Of course.” She touched his arm.

His feet stopped, but his heart sped up.

Jordan stepped closer, her whispered breath brushing his cheek. “Can I call you if I can’t sleep?”

“Anytime.”

“Thanks.” Jordan stepped back, leaving a void.

Andrew listened for the dead bolt to set before walking down the stairs and waiting for a phone call he knew he should not be anticipating.

Built in the mideighties, the movie studio wasn’t as big as the one they used in LA, but it was better equipped than what Jordan expected for Green Bay. Set designers unloaded pieces as familiar as her own home from several semitrucks.

Paul yelled at everyone about losing a day of shooting. “The sets should have been put up yesterday. Move it, move it!” The crew muttered. They couldn’t help it if the trucks were late.

Jordan escaped to her trailer to wait for the new call time. Andrew and Princess joined her.

“Do you always get trailers on set?” Andrew let Princess do some exploring.

“Not all the time, but with a lack of dressing rooms and the fact that they can move this to the mansion for those shots, it makes it so I don’t have to move all my stuff.”

“Stuff?”

“Look in the bedroom. I think a third of my wardrobe is in

there.”

Andrew stuck his head into the back room. “I didn’t realize being a princess required so many clothes.”

“Wait until you see my wedding dress. They designed a twelve-foot train. Kate Middleton’s only had a nine-foot train, and she is really a royal. Needless to say, it won’t fit in the trailer. My ball gowns aren’t in there either.” Jordan frowned.

“You don’t like ball gowns? Even my sister Abbie likes to play dress up.”

“Not so much the gowns as the scenes I have to do in them. One gown is strapless, daring by Hearthfire standards, and I have to dance with Storm. I don’t know how I can pretend to have chemistry with him when he is touching my bare back. And if he wears Thunder, I might ruin the front of his tux. Wardrobe won’t be happy about that.”

Andrew sat on the arm of the couch. “You don’t like him much, do you?”

“No, and it will cause problems. We have three kissing scenes. First kiss, engagement, and wedding. Paul is filming the first next week. He was going to do them all the last week of filming, but I think he hopes Storm will wow me and we will get some better on-screen chemistry.” Jordan made a gagging noise and a barfing sign. Andrew laughed.

Someone knocked on the door. Andrew opened it to find Storm.

“Scram, bodyguard. Princess Sam and I need to have a talk.”

Princess growled and advanced on Storm, her tail stiff. Jordan gagged as the scent of Thunder filled the room.

“And take her mutt with you.”

Princess barked.

Jordan made the sign for shoes, and Andrew gave the slightest of nods. Jordan stood and scooped up Princess, who continued to growl, and sat at the far end of the couch. “Storm, come in and have a seat.” She pointed to the chair farthest from her.

“Have him take the dog out of here.”

Jordan stroked Princess’s head. “If they leave, she will bark so loud that everyone on the lot will come running. Princess has been very jumpy since the shooting, so if you want to speak to me, you’ll have to do it with both her and Andrew here.”

Storm scowled and plopped down on the couch. “We need to work on our chemistry. Everyone noticed in the reading.”
