“Cam, Baby Boy, you’re on speaker. Talk to us.”

The sound of my Alpha’s voice both soothes me and sends me into another crying fit.

“Hey, hey, baby breathe for me. Everything is going to be okay.” This time it's River.

“You hate me.” I cry out.

“No baby, we don’t hate you. Could never hate you. You’re ours, Cam. Our omega. We’re so fucking sorry we’re stupid. We’re on our way. We have you. Everything is going to be okay,” Brooks promises.

Hearing them say they don’t hate me sends me into a hysteria. It’s like a dam being smashed open and I’m unable to stop crying. I’m gasping for air, my body shaking as I struggle to breathe.

I can vaguely hear them continuing to talk on the phone, their voices adding just enough comfort to keep me from passing out due to hyperventilating. Maybe I should pass out, the pain is too much to handle.

It feels like hours before the door opens. “Cam?” I cry because it’s not Lee or my Alpha’s voice. “Fuck, Cam.”

The feeling of cold hands has me burying my face into the floor, seeking relief. But when their scent hits my nose, I crawl away, a wounded whine leaving my raw throat.

“Don’t fucking touch my Omega,” Brooks roars. “Get your hands off him.”

“I’m only trying to help,” Jamie argues back.

My eyes are closed, my lids too heavy to open.

“You’ve helped enough,” River barks.

“Don’t yell at my Alpha.” Is that Beckham? “We’ve been here taking care of your omega while you’ve been selfish assholes and wouldn’t take care of him yourself.”

“Shut your fucking mouth, Kennedy, or I’ll do it for you,” River barks.

“Hey, baby,” Lee’s voice has my eyes fluttering open. I look up into his baby blue eyes but something behind him catches my attention.

Jamie pulls a gun and presses the tip to River’s forehead. “Talk to my omega like that again, and I’ll pull this fucking trigger with a smile on my lips.”

My whimper has everyone in the room looking my way. It causes them to snap out of it. Brooks and River rush to my side.

“Fuck, baby,” Brooks rasps, his voice as broken as his face looks. “I’m so fucking sorry.”

“It hurts,” I whine.

“We need to get him out of here.” River says. “No way we can have a heat in this dorm room.”

“We’re taking him to the club. It’s the only place set up for something like this.” Lee says.

The club? Like the one I work at. How the hell is that place a good place for a heat?

I don’t have it in me to argue.

Brooks pulls me into his lap, wrapping his arms around me. “Shh,” he coos. “I have you, baby. You're okay.”

“Go,” Mr. Kennedy says. “Out the back.”

I’m being lifted into the air and rushed out of the dorm room. The guys continue to soothe me through my cries of pain as I cling to Brooks with any energy I have left. I feel worse with each passing step.

His chest is vibrating, the sound of his purrs enough to make the pain not feel like I’m being ripped apart.

They get me into the back seat, Lee taking the driver's side.

Their smells surround me, making me moan, my perfume bursting free.
