“The only way to live,” I grin.
He rolls his eyes and sighs. “My poor best friend.”
“Don’t feel bad for him.” I growl. “He’s perfectly fine.”
“No he’s not. He’s mated to you,” Jamie gives me a taunting grin.
“If he didn’t like you so much, I’d kill you,” I promise.
“Nah, because your daddy would be pissed that my daddy would take his business elsewhere. Remember that.”
“Are you threatening me, Cross?” I ask, raising a brow.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” he winks.
Coach snaps at us to pay attention, putting our little chit chat to an end.
The game starts and I slip into game mode.
When I’m out on the field, it’s like I become a whole new person.
I’m on fire tonight. The whole team is. For a while, it’s close. It only makes us work harder.
Before we know it, the buzzer sounds, marking the end of the game.
We win. Of course we fucking win.
Once I manage to pull myself out of the team celebration, I jog over to my pack. They’re waiting for me on the side lines, big grins on their faces.
“You did it!” Camden throws himself at me. I toss my helmet to the ground and catch him.
“Did you ever doubt me?” I ask, searching his big blue eyes.
“Not for a second,” he whimpers before grabbing fistfuls of my sweaty hair and kissing me.
I groan against his lips, parting mine to take control. My tongue slips in and over his, moving together in a sensual dance.
“How do you want to celebrate?” Cam asks, panting heavily as he breaks the kiss, putting his forehead to mine.
“At home. Naked. With my pack. In your sweet ass,” I growl. “I want to watch Lee swallow that perfect cock of yours with his tight needy hole.”
“Hell yes,” Lee groans. “Let’s get the fuck out of here.”
This is what my life’s become. School, football, work, and pack.
Camden is exactly what our pack needed. We were happy before we met him and I know we could have been just fine if he never came into our lives.
But now that he has, I can’t imagine my life without him. He completed us in ways we never knew we needed.
CHAPTERTWENTY-THREE
RIVER
Ifeel as if I’m on top of the world. As we walk into class, people jump out of the way when I snap and bare my teeth at them, and my omega snuggles into my arms with a secret smile. I think he likes how aggressively possessive we are.
I want people to see us if he’s ever on his own and run screaming in the other direction because they know who he belongs to. Camden has had a rough semester at Crown Well and he deserves good things.
My lip curls in annoyance as I see someone sitting in Cam’s seat. We don’t have assigned seating, but I know he likes to sit in the middle of the auditorium so he can pay attention to Dr. Kennedy. There’s currently someone sitting there.
