“Yes.”

He flicked again.

“Yes.”

Her hand gripped his hair. She wanted his pleasure too. The urge was overwhelming. “Reggie,” she whispered raggedly. “Stop.”

He ducked out, eyes dazed. “Stop?”

“Let me…” she pointed down to the bulge she saw in his pants.

She almost thought he was going to say no, but then he stood and pulled her to the bed. “We’ll do it together.”

Her heart fluttered, and heat hotter than she knew pooled in her core.

His breeches were off, he was on the bed. Not a second lost. He was laying down, and his voice was hoarse, but he managed to say, “Lay on top of me. We’ll each find pleasure.”

When she first straddled him, facing him, he smiled. “Turn around love.”

And when she did, she felt a small squirt leak out of her at the prospect of having him in her mouth. His hands gripped her hips and pulled her back until she was resting on his tongue. With a moan, she leaned forward and licked his cock.

He groaned and thrust upward, against her open mouth. God, how she wanted him in her mouth. So she took him in and sucked on him like he was a sugar stick. His taste, his softness, his pleasure, filled her mouth.

Her moans mixed with his, and while his tongue pleasured her, she devoured him. He was thickening, and she could taste him more and more.

He somehow pulled her tongue off of him, and he spent on his stomach. All the while, he didn’t stop until she shattered atop him.

Chapter 20

AWHILE LATER, THEY were still laying sprawled out on the bed, savoring each other’s presence. Bernadette couldn’t remember feeling so at peace. She was swimming in delight. So much had happened in the past week, but now when she thought of her future she was overjoyed. To think Reggie would be there with her and Jacob every step of the way was an incredible feeling. He was self-sacrificing, compassionate, tender, and fiery. And he was right, as long as they tended to their fire, it wouldn’t go out. In her heart, she knew it to be a truth of the universe. Fire was meant to burn.

She was so content to be nuzzled up to Reggie. His long, lithe, strong body full of heat. If she could stay cuddled here forever, it wouldn’t be long enough. But there was a wedding ahead. Perhaps she shouldn’t allow him to spend the entire night in her bedchamber.

Reggie cleared his throat. “Before we get married tomorrow, there are two things I need to tell you.”

So intoxicated with him was she, that she felt nothing he had to say could detract from her mood.

“Tell me,” she said lazily, as she tucked an arm around his chest, obviously not ready to send him away yet.

“Well,” she could feel his chest rumble with some nerves, “it’s kind of awkward to say.” He ran a hand down her back. “I haven’t told anyone else yet.”

“You can tell me anything.”

“I know that to be true…all the same, I’m sure you’ll have questions I won’t be able to answer yet.”

Curiosity piqued, she asked, “What is it?”

“Well…I guess I’m a duke.”

She laughed.

“No, seriously. I’m the Duke of Northfore.”

“Northfore? Isn’t that in Scotland.”

“Yes.” She had to sit up for this. “You are a Scottish duke?”

It was his turn to laugh now. “I know, it’s ridiculous. But yes. I’m telling you the truth. A solicitor came the morning we left to visit Kat and Quinn. He laid it all out and, despite my protests, he confirmed that I am, in fact, a duke. It’s a rare case. First of its kind, so the solicitor pointed out to me, but it all checks out.”
