He growls with satisfaction as he thrusts into me one more time and explodes inside me. His fingers dig into my hips as he pulls me down onto his cock, trying to get as deep inside me as he can.

Andrei drives us home because my legs won’t stop shaking. We’re both laughing when we park outside the villa, and he brushes his hand over my thigh. “Can you walk?” he teases me.

I roll my eyes and push the door open to climb out.

I’m carrying my shoes in my hand, and the sand is warm beneath my feet.

“Let’s walk on the beach, I don’t feel like going inside yet,” he says, holding out his hand so I can take it. He kicks his shoes off, leaving them near the car.

“I’d love to,” I say happily, tossing my shoes close to the villa door and walking barefoot next to him.

The sky is dark blue, but there is so much light tonight under the almost full moon that we can see our pathway easily enough. The night is so clear that every star is visible, glittering above us.

Andrei lets go of my hand and instead wraps his arm around my waist, holding me against his side.

“What’s your dream car?” he asks, still thinking about the race. I like the fact that I shocked him a little, that I managed to surprise him. He seems really impressed with me, and inside, I’m glowing with pride when I answer him.

“The Ford Shelby Mustang, GT 500 in neon pink.” I grin.

“Oh, wow, you answered really fast,” he laughs.

“Well, I’ve thought about it a lot,” I shrug, then lean my head against him.

“So, you’re telling me I got the wrong Mustang for our holiday,” he smirks.

“Yes, you got the wrong Mustang. But at least you know for next time.”

He chuckles, his hand brushing over my waist, teasing me with his touch.

My heart is doing somersaults as we walk along the water’s edge, gentle waves lapping at our feet in the low tide. There is so much more beach uncovered, with the full moon pulling the tide so far back that the entire place feels bigger and even more beautiful.

We walk past palm trees that have fairy lights strung around them, and a beach bar, colorful with dancers, live music and cocktails.

I snuggle closer to Andrei.

All I want right now is to be near him. Any other night and I’d be begging to go dancing, to have a shot of something, to enjoy the music. But for the first time ever, the thing that I want most is someone’s company.

A very specific person.

This holiday is pulling us closer and closer together, and I can’t help but hope that he is starting to have feelings for me, too.

Maybe I’m living in a dream world. If that’s the case, that’s fine. I’ll live here until it’s over. At least it gives me something to enjoy while it lasts.

Glancing up at him, I note the smile on his face. I’m tempted to stop him and kiss him again, but something catches my eye, teasing the edge of my vision, and I quickly turn towards it.

My heart is suddenly racing in my chest.

“Did you see something?” he asks, glancing in the same direction. But his body is relaxed.

“I probably imagined it,” I laugh nervously.

All those years of Van stalking me have me on high alert still. I expect to see him stepping out from every dark shadow and dragging me back home after I’ve snuck out—I’m not used to this newfound freedom I have with Andrei.

We walk a little further down the beach, and it happens again. My nerves begin to prickle with fear and anxiety.

I’m provably being silly, but this is a horrible feeling.
