“Hell, them. I will,” I answered Raven, and she laughed.

There wasn’t a game in the arcade we didn’t play in the hour and a half we stayed. On the drive back to Doc’s house, Reagan even fell asleep and Raven had to shake her awake once we got to the house.

“You sure you don’t want to come in?” Raven asked.

“I’m sure.” If we hadn’t been standing on her grandparents’ porch, and this was her place, I would have said yes. Which probably would have been a huge mistake for both of us.

“Well, I guess I’ll see you next week when you visit Ry.”

“Yeah. I hope Doc and Gretchen don’t get sick of seeing me.”

“You know they won’t. What you should worry about is the weight you’re going to put on with Gran feeding you. I won’t be surprised if she bakes this week knowing you are going to be here.”

I groaned. “I won’t even mind the extra workouts if she makes those triple fudge brownies. As many as I ate, I should’ve weighed five hundred pounds back then.”

“Her cooking is another reason I need to find the kids and me a place. If I don’t, I going to put more weight on top of the extra I already carry.”

I looked her over. “You look great, Raven. A few extra pounds won’t change that, it’s just extra cushion.”

“Thank you. But underneath my clothes is the body of a mother of two.”

“Don’t say shit like that about yourself. Ain’t a damn thing wrong with your body.”

“You’re being nice, and I appreciate it. You took it the wrong way, though. I’m perfectly fine with my body. But after having Ry and Reagan, I’m carrying a few extra pounds that won’t go away, and I’m good with it.”

“Good, you should be. Now, I better get going.”

“Okay, see you later.”

I walked down the steps of the porch and toward my truck, then stopped and stood there for a minute.

“Did you forget something?” Raven called out, and I turned around, walked back toward the house and up the stairs to the porch, stopping in front of her.

“Yeah, I did.”

Before I put any more thought into it, I put a hand on her neck and the other at her waist and yanked her against me. Her eyes widened, then closed as I took her mouth. I pushed my tongue past her lips and tasted every crevice of her mouth.

I moved my hand and gripped her butt, pressing her closer. Letting her feel the hardness behind my jeans and capturing her moan as I savaged her mouth.

Kissing Raven was like coming home.

I eased up, softening the kiss. Relaxing the hold I had on her until I finally lifted my lips from hers. I waited for her to open her eyes, and when she did, I saw everything I needed to know.

Stepping away from her, I turned and walked down the stairs.

“Was Sami to blame for that one, too?”

I grinned as I reached my truck and opened the door. “Nah, it was all me. Night, Raven,” I said, then got in my truck, pulled the door closed, and after starting it up, I drove away.

Looked as if I was going after what I wanted.
