“Another brother down. You are a goner for that woman,” Coast said as we headed to the front where the others stood, speaking to some of themembersalong the way.

“Yeah, I am. Shit, I think I was two minutes after I walked into the bakery last week. Know what, Coast?” I lowered my voice.

“What?”

“I could care less. She’s it for me.”

“Glad to hear it. Happy for you, brother.” We reached theothers, and Coast stepped off to the side.

“You’re alive,” my dad said as I sat in the chair beside Jag who laughed.

“Wasn’t too sure about that when I woke up.”

“I feel your pain. Ally ranintothe room this morning and jumped on me. And I had firsthand experienceofwhat Sami is going through with morning sickness. As I hugged that bowl, I considering drowning myself.” Everyone in hearing distance laughed at Speed.

“You boys are lightweights. I got up this morning to eggs, bacon, and biscuits and gravy,” Roscoesaid, and Crusher, Speed, Flirt, and I groaned.

“Alright, let’s get Church underway. My bed is still calling to me.” The room got quiet when Crusher spoke. He started with Jas going back home to the Ops.

Then Flirt covered the money and where the club was sitting as far as finances and what was predicted for the next month. The four-bike contract we just signed two weeks ago for Black Hawk Custom Bikes would put a good chunk into thecoffer. After current business was over that was when any new business went on record.

“Turk and Boss, you had something you wanted to run past the club?” Crusher asked. Turk stood so everyone in the room could hear.

“Boss and I have been lookingintoopening a Cannabis shop. The return on the initial startup cost is laid out in the proposal you have. The costof purchasing the product is down, considering we grow it. Of course, a lot of the plants we have are allocated to the government, but we bought the land that runs the length of our land at the back. That land could be used to grow the crop for the shop.”

“We’ll look over the plan. Run some numbers and then at the next meeting we will do a vote on how much if any will be kicked in on the startup cost. We have one more thing to take care of today. Brax, can you come up here?”

Brax walked from the back of the room, and as he approached the table, the rest of us stood.

“You’ve been prospecting with Black Hawk for almost a year. You’ve done everything you’ve been asked to do, no questions. You pitch in wherever you are needed so as of today, you’ll be a full member. Also, you can thank Flirt for ratting you out. Every Prospect has a sponsor, Flirt was yours. So I’m going to let him do the honors. Thanks for your loyalty toward Black Hawk, its members, and its leadership.”

Flirt walked around the table and stood in front of Brax and held up a vest with the Black Hawk patch. Brax took off the vest he wore indicating he was a Prospect and put on his new one. When he faced the rest of the members most got to see his club name written on the front. Cheers and whooping came from theothers, and Brax smiled.

“Damn, I don’t know what to say. Thank you, it is an honor to be a member of Black Hawk MC doesn’t seem enough just to say that after everything you’ve done for me,” Brax said, then looked at Stroker, Flyboy, Preacher, Cruz, and Romeo. “To the former leadership, I want you to know I appreciate you taking in a broken man, giving him a home, and making him feel a part of something again.” Brax turned and faced us. “And to the new leadership, I pledge my loyalty and support. Your friendship since I rode through the gates with Flirt cameeasily, and it has meant a lot.”

When Ghost finished, Crusher brought Church to an end. We toasted our new member, which several did with soda, to includeme, then everyone started to leave. After the last memberwas gone, that was whenIand the others headed out.

The anticipation of having Bailey in my arms again and all to myself had me on my bike and headed toward her house in minutes.

Chapter Twelve

Bailey

“Better have a bag ready. Haul my ass out. Whatever.”

“Bailey, what are you in there mumbling about?” My mom stepped into my room.

“Lance, he can be such an ass. I don’t remember that about him. I must have blocked that part of his personality out.” My mom moved to stand besideme, and when I glanced overather, she was smiling. “What?”

“I can open the bakery in the morning if you don’t want to make the trek from Black Hawk that early,” she said, then picked up the shirt that laid on my bed and folded it. The smile was still on her face.

“Do you find this amusing?” I glared at her.

“Aww, sweetie. How can I not? You are mumbling andgriping, yet...packing a bag to stay at his house.” My mom started laughing, and I couldn’t hold back, I started laughing too as I shoved the shirt she’d folded in the bag and zipped it.

“He drives me crazy! One minute he is this loving man, then the next, he is arrogant and bossy. Oh, and he thinks everything can be solved with sex!” I went on arant, and my mom started laughing harder and sat down on the bed. That’s when I realized what I hadvoiced, and I felt my face heat.

“Bailey, do you know how hard that probably was to tell you about James? He felt responsible even though James is the one who chose his own fate. But I believe it was more he felt he letyoudown. That is why he couldn’t face you, honey.” I leaned over and hugged my mom.
