“Hey, what was I supposed to do?” Devil asked Speed, who shook his head.

“Not promise them we would teach them. You know Ally forgets nothing, so of course, she has asked me every single day,” Speed said disgustedly.

“They caught me off guard, and it was the only thing I could come up with. Would you rather I signed them up for classes instead?” Devil barked back at Speed.

“What classes?” I asked, my curiosity peaked by the brothers’ tones and facial expressions.

“Devil stopped by the gym the other day, and he had Ally and Neely with him. Ghost and a few of the other brothers were practicing Krav Maga. The girls asked if they could take classes. Instead of telling them they were too young, he told Neely and Ally they needed to check with me, Bailey, and Sami. But in the meantime, he and I could show them a thing or two,” Speed grouched as we reached the backyard.

I snorted, “Brothers, you are so whipped.”

“F you. I am not the only one who can’t tell them no,” Devil sneered.

“Might be true, but you’re the one using letters instead of dropping the ‘F’ bomb. Face it, the club is controlled by short people who wear dresses,” I said and glanced in the direction of the girls and grinned. The three were in a circle and bent at the waist with their fingertips touching the ground.

“You ladies stretching?” I asked as my lips twitched.

“Yep. Uncle Ghost said you could pull a muscle if you don’t,” Ally said, then the three raised up and made the same move again.

“It probably won’t work. We don’t got muscles,” Sawyer said as she stood, then bent her arm and poked a finger on her nonexistent bicep muscle.

“We can get muscles. You got to lift weights,” Neely brought up while placing one leg out in front of her body and bending at the knee and leaning toward it. I lifted a brow at Devil.

“What? She stretches with me before I run,” Devil said and shrugged.

“When did you start running?” I asked and noticed Speed and Devil exchange looks.

“Uh, like two or three months ago. I’ve been running with Ghost a couple times a week,” Devil answered.

“Oh,” was the only response there was to give.

“You would have known that if you were around more,” Speed said as he stepped off the back porch with a rolled-up mat.

“Is that from the gym?” I asked as I grabbed an end and helped him carry it out into the grass.

“Yeah, I swung by there last night and grabbed it. We have a few extras in the back,” Speed answered as we unrolled it on the lawn. When we stood, Speed waved Ally over.

“What did you mean if I was around more? I’m always around.” I started to get a bad feeling. The thought that my dad might have been right when he mentioned me pulling away, struck hard.

Devil pretty much verified it when he answered, “Don’t get your panties in a wad. We get you and Coast are unattached and don’t want to spend your free time with the rest of us. Well, at least you both used to be single. By the looks of things today, you are the only one left. Anyhow, we get it.”

“You are spouting bullshit,” I said and pulled my wallet out from my back pocket, opened it, and handed Ally a dollar.

“You wouldn’t be getting pissed if you really thought it was bull,” Speed said with a smug look on his face, which I would have liked to knock off if not for three little girls watching and listening to us.

“We should get started.” I waved my hand out to indicate the six of us standing around the mat. “Before I have to pay Ally more money.”

“I’m going to make lots of money being a fighter,” Neely said.

“How are you going to be a fighter? They don’t wear girly clothes,” Ally responded, and Neely frowned at her.

“They do when they’re not fighting,” Neely said, then looked at Devil. “Right, Dev?”

I concentrated on the girls and found it easy to let go of being mad. More than likely, because the brothers had been spot-on with their assessment, and I hadn’t wanted to analyze it. Even more so, I had no plans to acknowledge any of it to them.

“Sure do, sis,” Devil agreed with Neely, and she smiled.

“Well, I don’t like dresses,” Ally said.
