Mark holds his hands up. “Guess I’m good at them. It’s a really juicy part.” He tells me the story and about his role. I have to agree, this is a wonderful opportunity for him.

“And you know the best part, right?”

At my perplexed expression, he answers his own question. “Sophia’s going to be on the set!”

His answer forces a chuckle out of me. “You got it bad for her, don’t you?”

“Dude. She only started to give me the time of day near the end ofDoctor Manipul8, and then we parted ways. I’m going to change that when we start filming.”

“I wish you luck. Although, love is overrated. Keep it superficial, and you’ll be good.”

I down my wine.

“That’s not the tune you were singing on set.”

With a twist of my lips, I note, “I should have.”

“Well, I’m going to take that as bad advice from someone who’s never been in love before. I think Sophia might be right for me. Just you wait, Chase.” He pats my forearm. “When the lightning in the bottle hits you, you’ll change your tune.”

I doubt that.
