Wyn offered me a large smile. So large, it almost looked painful. “You just figured out something that took me nearly a year to understand. You are going to be just fine.”
I found myself tipping my face up to meet his instinctually. His lips, a little rough, pressed to mine as if we had done this a thousand times. In the same instance, it was also a feeling unlike any other I’d experienced. Our animals harmonized together.
Wyn’s animal was different from mine. He was a wolf, lynx, fox, and a hawk. I had so many questions, but they could wait.
His tongue pressed into my mouth, pausing briefly to make sure that I was alright with it. Oh, boy, was I. Clutching his forearms, I pulled him closer. Soon, his lips and tongue were all I could focus on.
He could kiss. It felt like he was fucking my mouth with his tongue. Breathing wasn’t a requirement any longer. As his tongue stroked inside of my mouth, heat pooled between my thighs. When he paused to let us both take a breath, I whimpered.
“Don’t stop.” If I didn’t get his mouth back, I’d go insane.
“Oh, Becca, I would continue, but our cooking has awoken the others. I doubt they’ll take kindly to seeing me groping you.” His hands ran down my arms to grasp my hands in his. “We will have time, have no doubt.” He stepped away, moving to the griddle to place more bacon on it. “We’ll start training this afternoon. Gary should be here in two days. I spoke with him last night. He’s dropping the kids and your mother off at the house in Englewood. We’ll have a lot to talk about.”
My clit throbbed, wanting his mouth or his cock, but it wasn’t going to happen at that point, so I took a deep breath. Thoughts of my stepfather helped cool me down even faster.
“Is there a plan? If the rogue is dead, there’s nothing to worry about, right?” I poured the eggs that I’d put in the big bowl into a skillet on the other side of the stove.
“The rogue garnered the attention of the Venandi, didn’t he?” Axel’s voice came from the stairs.
I still had to get used to that. My hearing was a lot better than it had been when I was human. I don’t think it was anywhere as good as the other guys, but it had changed. I added that to the list of things to talk to Wyn about.
Wyn turned to watch Axel come into the kitchen. He came over to me, I felt his heat before I looked up at him. My head thumped against his chest. His dark brown irises had flecks of gold and green in them. I’d never noticed that before now.
“Hi.”
He bent to press a kiss to my lips softly. “Good morning, cub.” He looked at the skillet, took the spatula from my hand, and started to stir it. “Don’t want to burn it.”
I relaxed against him as his other hand wrapped around my waist. I let him finish the eggs as I just enjoyed being in his arms. I was trying hard not to just come undone at his touch.
Wyn finished the bacon, placing all of it onto a large serving tray, and started grabbing bread and butter for toast. “Are the others going to head down?” He glanced at Axel.
“Yeah. They’re headed down in just a minute.”
I was just finishing setting up dishes for breakfast when the other three came down the stairs. I paused to watch.
They were all dressed but their scents wafted toward me and I was back to a horny mess again. I had to clutch the table's edge. Damn it, when was this going to stop happening?
“Sorry, baby.” Seth pulled a chair out next to me and helped me into it.
I squirmed. “I said that out loud?”
“Oh yeah.” Cody sat across from me, his wicked grin making me groan in embarrassment.
“You’re going to be in heat until you’ve mated with all of us.” Jasper sat on my left, taking my hand in his. “Hopefully after that, it will be less intense.” He didn’t look like he wanted it to lessen.
“I hope it’s not less intense.” Axel brought over the eggs and bacon with Wyn. “The smell is intoxicating.”
I groaned, my forehead thumped on the table. “Axel!”
“He’s right, though.” Seth sat on my right. “You’ll probably feel out of control until you’ve mated with the rest of the guys, marking them and receiving their mark.” His fingers brushed my hair aside so that he could trace where he’d bitten me.
I almost jolted out of the seat at the pleasure that shot through me.
Seth grinned into the cup he picked up to sip. He’d done it on purpose.
“To continue our conversation,” Wyn sat next to Cody, piling his plate with food. “Yes, the Venandi are aware of the situation. They wanted to send a patrol out. Luckily, I was nearby, so I said I would handle the situation.” He bit into the toast that he’d over buttered. “I haven’t reported back yet, but I should be able to hold them off for a few more weeks.”
Seth nodded once as he put some eggs onto my plate. “We figured this would happen since we weren’t fast enough to stop the rogue.” He placed several pieces of bacon on my plate next and I just shook my head, letting him take care of me. “We can leave this area. They will not find evidence of us in this house, but they’d know there was more than the rogue out here. We wouldn’t be able to return here.”
