Becca, I’m fin—

No.I turned to glare at him. You’ll be a distraction if you try to help now.

Ouch. True, but ouch. His bear grumbled angrily at me as I nudged his nose.I’ll see about helping the witches who were knocked down.He limped away from me.

I pushed my feelings into my mark, making sure he knew how much I loved him without saying anything.

Another flash of pain ripped through me, this time it was Cody. I turned in time to see him get hit directly by a bolt.

CODY!All our voices echoed in my head. I couldn’t get to him. Jasper stood protectively over him as Tarragon took a step toward both of them.

That’s when Wyn swooped out of the sky, his talons dug into Tarragon’s left shoulder. The Fae grabbed at Wyn, but he was too fast for him. As he was distracted, Seth came out of nowhere, tackling Tarragon to the ground. Seth let out a roar in his face, his claws dug into his chest as if he were slicing into butter.

The Fae didn’t even blink. I whimpered when he punched Seth in the head several times. My mate didn’t move but I felt the damage. Seth bit down on the arm that was punching him, drawing out a grunt from Tarragon.

“Enough!” Tarragon gave his own roar as power pulsed from him, throwing Seth off of him.

Seth landed near Jasper and Cody, who had just shakily gotten to his feet.

Guys? Cody?I tried not to let them feel how scared I was.

Stay back, baby.Seth took a step toward Tarragon, who rolled his neck in annoyance. It’s going to be alright.

I can help!I moved forward stealthily even as Seth and the others grumbled at me.

“As much fun as this has been,” the Fae held his uninjured hand out. “I have a compound to destroy.” He started mumbling in the strange language from before. The earth trembled as another explosion rocked the night.

I’d managed to stay out of his sight on his right side as he sent more magic out at the guys. Lightning rushing out at them.

Enough was enough. There was no such thing as fighting dirty, especially with this asshole.

I got down, waiting for an opening as Wyn transformed mid-flight into his wolf form, dropping on top of Tarragon. Wyn went for his neck just as Seth leapt at him, too.

Tarragon protected himself, throwing up his hands. I saw my opportunity. My feet pounded into the ground as I dove at the man. My teeth sunk into his flesh and my growl was triumphant as Tarragon made a squeal-like sound as I bit into his penis, ripping it from his body, even though it was nasty. It’d been pretty easy, actually.

Everything seemed to freeze in that moment. For just a second, there was just his screams, then Tarragon was no longer in any pain because Seth and Wyn tore into his neck, cutting off his screams. I spit out his dick, watching a little bit fascinated, as it rolled a few feet. It was disgusting, even more than the guy's body as it fell to the ground, his head almost completely cut off from his neck.

Severed heads are a theme with this family.Wyn came over to me pushing against my side.I can’t believe you bit his dick off.He gagged and it was such a funny sight that I laughed.

Seth shifted where he was standing over Tarragon’s body. I ran my eyes over him to make sure he was alright as well as admired the view.

“Becca, we’re going to have a conversation about you ignoring my orders.” He knelt in front of me after stepping over Tarragon. “I can’t believe you did that.” His skin was a little green as he looked over at the offending appendage.

It worked, didn’t it?I glanced over to Jasper and Cody.Cody! Axel! Are you okay?

Chapter 37

Becca

“What do you mean ‘no’?” I glared down at my mate. “The healer said you have to take this medicine until it’s gone.” I held up the bottle that was half empty. “Drink it!”

“No! It tastes gross and I’m fine!” Cody scrambled away from me onto the other side of the bed. “I can sit up! I don’t need it!”

Growling, I pounced on top of him. He grunted from the force of it and tried to wiggle away. I plugged his nose with my left hand using my fingers and waited. He was turning blue by the time he gave up and gasped for air. I shoved the rest of the liquid down his throat. When he tried to cough it back up, I moved my hand from his nose to his mouth.

“Deal with it!” My raised voice bounced off the walls in his bedroom. “Stop being so stubborn!”

Once I was confident he’d swallowed it all, I removed my hand from his mouth. He glared up at me.
