The next thing that happens is a blur.
There’s a loud “Watch out” from behind us, and I turn and catch Blue before he falls face-first into the stands.
“That muthafucka,” he sneers as he holds the back of his head.
I rip toward Darius, then I’m yanked to the side as a light blue and gold jersey pushes past. Before I can right myself, Easton’s there blocking Darius’s blow before he hammers a right hook of his own that drops the fucker.
Sid and Cillian close in as Darius sputters, “What was that for?”
“I’m gay, fucker!” Easton fires back, launching another blow, this one against the floor alongside Darius’s head. “You talk about them, you’re talking about all of us.”
Blue and I lock eyes, his murderous glint softened with amusement.
A security guard who has a death wish pushes Cillian hard down the stands.
“What the fuck?” I shout as the guard turns and goes for Sid, who gut checks him as soon as he grabs his jersey.
“Stay down,” Sid warns before we’re escorted out of the game.
CHAPTER 48
ARNAZ
“Him”
Awake, you reach for me, and I know the beauty of morning.
“That new guard applied excessive force,” Sid reprimands the line of security guards outside our locker room door. “We were already walking away. I want to talk to?—”
“Consider it handled,” Gigi replies, cutting through the line. “There will be an internal investigation into his conduct. If there is a violation of use-of-force protocols, he will be suspended or terminated.”
“If?” Sid scoffs.
“If.” Gigi winks at him.
Yeah, that guy’s a goner.
“Gigi.” I stop pacing. “I need five minutes in their locker room.”
“Not happening, Cade,” Jo, my other favorite guard, replies.
“Please.” I shift on my feet. “Thought you wanted an invite to the wedding.”
Sid smirks. “Come on. Let princess go get his prince.”
Jo sighs. “It’s your call, boss,” he directs to Gigi.
Gigi huffs out a curse. “I swear to god, if you so much as raise your voice in there…”
“You da best.” I shoot her a big smile.
“Yeah, yeah. Jo and I get the next two gift baskets.”
“Done,” I call out as I race down the hall.
Salem
“Nope.” Cillian jumps to his feet.
