I take a page from Kieran’s book. “I plead the fifth.”
I love these guys, but it will be Adam for me and Kieran for Sid.
“Any chance Sid has a very similar, if not identical, brother hidden somewhere?” Malik asks.
Tevin scoffs. “Dude! Are you even bi?”
Malik scoffs back. “Like you wouldn’t go bi for Sid!”
We burst out laughing.
“Nah, sorry. He’s an only child,” I reply.
“You have a beautiful family,” Kaleb observes.
I follow his gaze to Tommy laughing with Kieran, Ishan sitting on Adam’s lap, feeding him a bite from his plate, and Sid and Lily embracing each other as they return to the table.
I beam with pride. “Yeah, I do.”
“Hey," Sid announces. "Our engagement interrupted our feast. How about we all return to our seats and eat Adam's delicious food?”
Kieran passes around glasses of champagne as we settle back into our seats.
I can’t resist bending down and kissing Sid’s gorgeous lips, which are parted in the most radiant smile. As I take my seatnext to him, he immediately reaches for my hand. I trace his ringed finger with my thumb and grin hard.
Brittany Howard’s voice croons through the speakers.
Arnaz leans over to fist-bump Adam. “Best frickin’ jerk I’ve ever tasted,” he says.
“You should open a spot in New York,” Idris agrees, licking his fingers.
Adam laughs. “Thank you! You all should visit the east coast and check out the amazing Caribbean restaurants."
“Okay! Just give me a bite,” Camilia, Nicholas’s girlfriend, says as she reaches for his chicken.
He moves his plate out of reach. “Not a fat chance. You made me promise to get you over the line.”
“Nicholas Steel, give me a bite right now or no s-e-x for a month,” she declares, spelling out the word because Kaleb’s kids are at the table.
“You told me that if I caved, I wouldn’t get s-e-x for a month. I can’t win.”
“Someone want to fill the rest of us in?” Idris asks, wide-eyed.
“Cam is doing one of those vegan thirty-day challenges, and she’s five days away from completing it,” Nicholas says.
“Whatever! Twenty-five days is sufficient. Thigh, now!” She demands.
Nicholas looks to us for help. Sid swipes his hand across his neck and mouths,Don't do it.At the same time, Kaleb yells, "Give the lady what she wants."
“Screw this,” Nicholas says, and we burst out laughing when he attempts to shove an entire breast and thigh in his mouth.
I retrieve the tray of jerk chicken from the serving table and walk it over to Cam. “Nick can’t be punished if I cave. Here you go, milady.”
She plucks up a breast and rips off a huge bite. Her eyes roll closed as she moans. “Praise be to you!” She points the half-bitten breast to Adam before ripping off another bite.
Even Kaleb’s kids are cracking up.
“I’ll just leave the tray here,” I say.
