“They are loud.” Wanda agreed with that. She rested her head on Christa’s shoulder, looking out the window. The dipping sun silhouetted her trees. They swayed in the breeze and encouraged her home. “It’s time to go home,” she murmured.

Christa moved, dislodging her head to look at her. A softness to her gaze came when she glanced at the orchard. “Yes, it is. They missed us.”

In that moment, Wanda was truly happy they had the house to use for Christa and Wanda’s family, but that their home in the trees would always be just for them.

She kissed Christa’s throat, trailing open-mouthed kisses down the column of her neck, reaching the exposed collarbone which she traced with her tongue. “Take us there.”

“As you wish, my love.”

In the blink of an eye, Wanda lay naked on a lush bed of leaves with Christa lying at her side. Her hand stroked down her soft curves as the branches formed a nook around them, the overhead ones opening the canopy to allow them to watch the evening light fade and the soft evening air to caress Wanda’s warm skin. She moaned as Christa came closer and kissed her, the taste of chocolate lingering on her tongue.

A languid feeling followed as Christa stroked over her heating flesh, murmuring words of love. “You are my world.” Another kiss. “My everything.” Another kiss. “My love,” she groaned as Wanda went pliant.

“As you are mine,” she answered breathlessly, losing herself in the world of love that her girls created, and Christa completed.

Wanda

Eighteen Months Later

Wanda watched Christa while up to her elbows in flour. She was making a birthday cake for Dakata, and all that Wanda had done was get in the way. She couldn’t help it, Christa was sexy when she got all creative in the kitchen.

“You are distracting me,” Christa said in exasperation, making Wanda giggle because it was the truth.

“I thought I was helping?” She leaned closer to lick of the gooey cake mix from the spoon Christa pointed at her.

“That’s it, go on, troublemaker.” The love in her gaze took the sting away when Christa nudged her towards the door. “Go play in the orchard.”

“If you’re sure that’s what you want?”

Christa released a deep belly laugh, shaking her head as she stepped back. “I’ve created a monster.”

“One you love,” Wanda held up her hands, backing towards the door, sensing Asmodeus heading towards her orchard. “But I’ll go, just don’t wash those spoons.” She took the nudging Christa was doing to get her out of the kitchen in good spirit and left her to finish up without complaint.

Walking out into the sunshine, Wanda took a moment to breathe and acknowledge how wonderful her life was. To send out her gratitude to the universe for blessing her. They spent more time at the house than she’d ever have considered she’d like a year ago. In fact, it tended to be her that suggested they go therebecause it was a place where they explored Wanda’s naivety of worldly things. Something that Christa loved to do that made life very fascinating and the house full of interesting drawers full of all kinds of gadgets and toys, both upstairs and down.

A smile spread at the sight of a dark head bobbing through the trees, holding a little bundle of joy. He’d brought Elara.

She picked up her pace. Her trees, feeling her excitement, swayed and lowered branches so that when Asmodeus reached them, Elara could grab at the peaches the child loved.

“There you are,” Asmodeus said, while his daughter babbled baby speak.

“Christa is baking a cake for Dakata for his birthday and as I’m more of a hindrance than a help, she gave me a little nudge out the door, happy to see me leave.”

“I’m sure she wasn’t.”

Wanda laughed at that. “You haven’t seen how messy I get.” Wanda looked at the little adorable troll-demon. “You know, don’t you sweetheart, how messy Auntie Wanda gets?”

“Chocho… chocho.”
