I stand and reach out for her half-drank coffee. “Well then, we best be on our way. We still have some plans to finalize today for the party, and I need to pick up your dress.”
Aurora hands me her cup and stands. “I’ll go get ready real quick and tell Drake where I’m going.”
I grab her shoulder, stopping her. “What you did for him means the world to him. You know that, right?”
She blushes. “I want to be a positive addition to all of your lives. That means always celebrating the important days. Birthdays are the most important. Without them, I wouldn’t have any of you.”
“Even me?” I ask.
“Yes, Ezra. Even you.”
I brush the hair off her face. “Go get ready, Princess.”
She swallows hard before she smiles. “Yes, Mr. Bossy Pants.”
“You could just say yes, sir,” I murmur.
Her grin grows wicked. “Yes, sir.”
My dick is instantly hard. Hearing her say those words is an aphrodisiac.
“Go before I forget to be decent and bend you over this bloody counter.”
She giggles but makes her way down the hall.
I stand for a moment, wondering how I’m letting her affect me this way. Then I remember I don’t care about that anymore. I want her to take over our lives. We want this.
Moving to the kitchen, I wash our glasses and set them in the drying rack. Once that’s done, I check my pockets, making sure I have my keys and wallet.
“Ready?” she asks as she walks toward me.
Once she’s close enough, I take her hand in mine. I didn’t miss her letting me call her Princess. I might not be golden yet, but I’m in. She’s going to be mine before this weekend is over.
Then all will be right in the world.
Wordlessly, we leave the apartment and head down to the parking garage. Like the gentleman I was raised to be, I open her car door and help her in before getting in myself.
“I’m surprised the guys didn’t try to tag along,” I say as we get onto the road.
“I didn’t really give them an option. Besides, I haven’t gotten to spend as much time with you.”
“Very true.”
I take her hand in mine once again. Every so often on the short drive, I point out different landmarks and tourist things people seem to love. Luckily, I find a parking spot right in front of the restaurant.
“Stay.”
Getting out of the car, I round the bonnet and see her open her door.
“No you don’t,” I mutter, shutting the door before she can stick a leg out.
“Hey!” she yells from inside the car as I lean against the door.
Taking a deep breath, I roll up my sleeves and count to ten. Pushing off the door, I open it and hold out a hand.
“Seriously, Ezra?” she snaps as she slaps her hand into mine.
“If you had listened, we wouldn’t have had this problem.”
