“I’m sure tonight will be good for both of you. It will give you two a chance to get to know one another. I promise Ezra doesn’t hate you. He’s just cautious. He’s had a rough past.”
“Will it though? I mean, a massage doesn’t leave much room for talking and getting to know one another. I feel like he picked an activity that would leave us the least amount of time to talk.”
“That’s true, but that’s why you added dinner into the mix. I think you’ll be good for him. You call him on his shit.”
Aurora looks at me thoughtfully before reaching over and shutting off the water.
“You’re right.”
“I usually am,” I quip, even though my heart is racing.
Reaching over, I grab a towel off the rack and hand it to her.
“Thanks.” Aurora smiles as she slips a hand out from behind the curtain and grabs it.
“No problem,” I rasp.
Leaning back against the counter, I watch her silhouette as she dries off.
I’m going straight to hell.
She slides the curtain and steps out, making me straighten.
“I’ll be right back. I’m going to go put clothes on.”
“Sure.” I nod, looking at the floor.
As soon as Aurora slips out of the door and into her room, I scrub my hands over my face.
That has to be my worst fucking idea yet.
Sooner than I thought was possible, Aurora is back in a cute summer dress with ties on her shoulders.
“Do I look okay?”
“Perfect.”
Aurora shoots me a smile and grabs the blow dryer.
Leaning over, I take it from her hand. “Let me.”
“Really?” she asks, eyebrows shooting up in surprise.
“I have a sister, remember?” I chuckle.
“I forgot.” She blushes.
“Now, while I’m doing this, how about you do me a favor?”
“Sure, what’s up?”
“Think about what you want to do on our date.”
“Are you sure?” Her eyes light up in delight.
“You tell me what you want to do and I’ll make it happen,” I say as I turn on the blow dryer.
I watch as a million emotions fly over her face as I run my fingers through her hair, drying it. Even though her hair is thick and long, it dries faster than I was expecting.
