“Where did you have to eat?” Drake asks him.

“McDonald’s.” Ezra’s nose crinkles in disgust.

“The horror,” I gasp, clutching my chest.

“What are you two up to today?” he asks, ignoring my dramatics.

“We honestly hadn’t talked about it. I know I need to schedule some posts, but outside of that, I have nothing pressing. Especially now that we don’t have to stop at the toy store.” Drake shrugs.

“Same.”

Ezra looks between us and stands. “Well then, you two are in charge. I’m going to follow Santi’s lead and take a nap. Later, we can figure out dinner and if there’s anything we should get for Aurora before she shows. She might be hungry after working so long.”

“It is a restaurant. I’m sure they feed her.”

Ezra waves my comment away. “Servers hardly get a moment to go to the bathroom, let alone eat while they are working.”

“Sounds good. Get some rest,” Drake cuts in.

“You two are in charge.” He raises a brow and points at us. “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”

“But where’s the fun in that?” I whine in fake outrage.

Drake chuckles as Ezra walks down the hall toward the third bedroom. Once we hear the door click shut, he turns toward me and smiles. “That wasn’t as bad as it could have been.”

“No, it wasn’t. I wonder what else we could get away with right now…”

“You know…” Drake says thoughtfully. “If we were smart, we would go back to sleep ourselves. We didn’t get much last night.”

I stand, holding my hand out to him and pull him up when he places his hand in mine. “It could be a long night again. It would be the responsible thing to do.”

Drake leans over, kisses me, and pulls away all too quickly.

“I like the way you think. It’s almost as if we share a brain,” he rasps as he pulls me toward the bedroom.

* * *

My coworkers all talk to each other as we step out into the well-lit alley. I’m too busy looking down at my phone to notice everyone has come to a stop and bump into Tony, one of the line cooks.

“Shit, sorry,” I mutter as I look up to see what the problem is.

Right in front of us, leaning against the wall at the end of the alley is Santi. My eyes widen as I take him in. Santi is the epitome of gorgeous. With all that tan skin, the tattoos decorating it like a canvas, he looks like every wet dream come true. Add in the dark hair and those golden-hazel eyes, and well, my panties just disappeared.

Movement from farther down draws my eyes to the rest of the guys waiting on the sidewalk.

Pushing around the group, I walk toward them.

Santi pushes off the wall and walks right toward me, pulling me into his arms and swinging me around. I soak in the moment of being in his arms.

Santi promised me probably a year ago that when we first met, he would do exactly this.

“This is a pleasant surprise,” I murmur into his ear.

“Are you surprised though?” He smirks as he sets me down.

I grin. “I am. I wasn’t sure you’d come.”

He looks like he’s about to say something, but Liam cuts in.
