Having her here has been a dream. Even though her coming early was for Drake, she still made time to spend time with each of us. Even Ezra.
I don’t know what’s been going on with them, but it’s different. He’s doing what he promised he would do. He’s making her fall for him.
“I’ve missed you today,” she says against my chest.
“Is it fucked up that makes me happy?”
“No.” She chuckles.
I knew from years past that today would be nuts for the guys and me. I hated the idea of Aurora sitting at the rental or tagging along. Not that I didn’t want her help, but I didn’t want her to feel obligated to. She may be ours personally and warming our beds, but she’s still a guest at these events.
So I snuck out yesterday morning and set up a spa day for her. A full-body massage by an actual masseuse, a facial, and a manicure and pedicure. She had an endless tab and was able to get whatever she wanted on my dime.
“Did you have a good time though?”
“I did. Thank you, by the way. You really didn’t have to do that.” She nods.
“I wanted to and you’re welcome. Just seeing you look refreshed and relaxed makes it worth it.”
“I won’t lie, I went back to the house and took a nap for a bit. I was afraid if I didn’t, I wouldn’t make it all night. That masseuse.” She tilts her head back, moaning. “She had fucking magic hands.”
“You can head out at any time. You don’t have to stay as long as we do.”
Aurora eyes me out of the side of her eye, smirking. “I’m staying. You can’t get rid of me that easily. Besides, I promised Ezra I would be his date.” She looks out over the crowd. “This place is crazy already.”
“It will only get worse from here.” I look down at her and see her staring out at the crowd, eyes wide. “Have you ever been to an event like this before?”
Aurora shakes her head. “Never. I’m both excited and terrified. I’ve always heard about splatter paint and neon parties, but I honestly thought they were just something in movies.”
“They are very much a real thing. A pain in the ass to organize and an absolute mess but real.” I smile down at her and squeeze her side. “Stick with us and you’ll be fine.”
Aurora looks up at me with a teasing smile. “Will you keep me safe from the crazies?”
“Damn right I will.”
“Will you save me a dance?” she asks, eyes twinkling.
“Sweetheart, haven’t you figured out that my dance card is solely yours?”
Aurora bites her lip and I can’t help but run my thumb over it, freeing it.
“Don’t bite your lip in front of me when I can’t do anything about it.”
Aurora laughs, shaking her head. “And now my panties are wet.”
I open my mouth to respond but am cut off by Liam.
“Aurora! Someone down there wants to meet you, come on!”
“One second!” Aurora hollers back. She turns toward me and steps up onto her tiptoes, kissing me. All too soon, she pulls away and backs out of my hold.
“I’ll see you soon?”
“You will.”
Aurora starts to walk away but pauses and looks over her shoulder. “Hey Santi.”
“Yeah?”
