“There. All good.”
Nessa looks at my name tag and chuckles.
I glance at hers and see that it saysMrs. Parker.
“Is everyone ready?”
A chorus of “yes” ring out.
“Great. So for the first task, I want each team to bring me up one high-heeled shoe.”
Dominic smiles at Nessa.
She rolls her eyes, nudging me. “Why don’t you ever wear heels?”
“I do when the occasion calls for it.”
She hands her shoe to Grant, who runs it up front. The man marks our points as Grant comes back.
“Perfect. Now bring me a bobby pin.”
“Shit,” Nessa curses.
I smile, reaching up to grab the one I placed in my hair to hold my baby hairs off my neck. Holding it out, she smiles.
“Your man has to take it,” she says.
Dominic grabs it, taking it up front. Once he is gone, Barrett comes closer to me.
“We would have missed those points if it weren’t for you. I remember you always loved wearing your hair up.”
I give him a tight smile. “Yep. Can’t stand hair on my neck.”
He goes to speak again, but Dominic is back.
“Turn, I’ll put it back in your hair.”
I roll my eyes. “You’re a dude. Like you can figure it out.”
“Hush, woman. Turn around.”
So I do. Much to my surprise, he figures it out.
When I give him a questioning look, he smiles. “I was watching you earlier.”
“Of course you were, stalker,” I tease.
“Alright, let’s amp this up a bit. How about a T-shirt?” the announcer asks.
This time Barrett offers to go up. Only this time, the leader keeps the item.
“You will get your property back at the end, I promise.”
After a few more rounds where Samantha gave up an earring and Grant took off his socks, things started to get hot.
“Alright, now that we have a collection of items, how about we start with actions. This time, each team will have a judge watching.”
As he says this, a staff member makes their way to us. They give us a small smile, turning back to the front of the room.
