“Yeah. Let’s get this over with so I can get you back to the room.”

He reaches down and grabs my hand. I feel the good doctor move my shorts to the side before jabbing me with the needle. I can’t help but hiss at the initial pinch. Before I know it, the doctor removes the needle from my ass and puts my shorts back down.

“All right, all done. Let’s wait it out a few minutes and then you two can head back to your room. You can put some of the antibiotic cream Nurse Becky gave you for your foot on it if you want.”

“Awesome. Thanks, doc.”

“No problem. You two sit tight.”

DAY NINE: ON SHIP

Watchingthe doctor shove a needle in my girl’s ass cheek isn’t my idea of a good time. The only thing that should be going near her ass should be me.

When Katie lays her head down as the doctor moves from the room, I let her have her moment.

Katie must pass out almost instantly because when the doctor returns, I have to shake her awake.

“Katie.” I pause. “Katie, wake up, baby doll.”

Her eyes flutter open and a small smile plays on her lips.

“Hey you.” Her smile is droopy, and her eyes are cloudy.

“Hi, how are you feeling?” I frown.

I had no idea a shot would hit her this hard and this quick. I thought we would at least make it back to the room first.

“Why are you frowning?” she asks, poking my cheek. “Turn that frown upside down!”

“Looks like you’re in for a fun night.” The doctor chuckles.

Katie looks in his direction and smiles. “Doctor! You are the best. Ten out of ten, would recommend!”

The doctor laughs. “I’m glad you feel that way, Katie. Are you ready for Dominic to take you back to your room?”

“Hell yeah! I’m going to ride him like a cowgirl!” she says, swinging her arm over her head.

“How about you stop doing that, babe?” I say, grabbing her arm.

“Hey how did that get there?” she asks, looking at her arm like it’s offended her.

“All right, Katie, let’s get you up and into the wheelchair,” Nurse Becky says.

“Your rack is fantastic. I know you’re wearing scrubs, but you can still tell. It’s not fair.”

“Thank you.” Nurse Becky blushes.

“How about you keep that mouth closed until we get back to the room? We don’t need you upsetting anyone, sweetheart,” I tell her as I help her into the wheelchair.

“But Dom, why would you want me to keep my mouth shut? I thought you liked my mouth.”

“Holy fuck,” I groan and the doctor laughs. “She warned me she says weird shit when she takes anything stronger than Tylenol. I didn’t believe her.”

“Lesson learned, my guy. Lesson learned,” he says, slapping my shoulder. “You have our number if you have any questions or concerns.”

I start to wheel Katie out of the medbay when she squeals. “Slow down! I don’t want to get a speeding ticket,” she yells, making some of the employees milling about look our way.
