It made them both feel better knowing Kai did what he promised.
Callum chuckles. “Maybe because there are over two hundred people here today?”
My stomach rolls.
That’s a lot of people.
“Well, if that wasn’t it, it is now.”
Callum chuckles, squeezing my hand before tucking it into his elbow. “Don’t worry about them. Concentrate on your man at the end of the aisle.”
I smile wider. “He is handsome.”
Callum shakes his head. “If you say so. You ready?”
I nod. “Love you, big brother,” I say as I think about how close we’ve grown over the last year. Between him and Kai, my life couldn’t possibly be any fuller.
“Love you too baby sister.” He smirks at me as the doors open.
My heart catches when I see the chapel. Kai asked me to let him decorate the chapel, and I handled the reception.
Now I’m glad I did.
The entire room is covered in lilies. Different kinds of lilies, too.
Royal lilies are lined along the aisle while bouquets of eastern, orange, and tiger lilies hang from the ceiling making it look like a chandelier of flowers.
My eyes tear.
Lilies are my favorite flowers. Every kind of them.
My eyes meet his then.
He smiles at me, his own eyes glassy as he stares at me.
It might not be our first wedding, but it is the first time he is seeing me in a wedding dress as I walk toward him.
Not that I think he cares about what I’m wearing.
No. The look of pure adoration in his eyes is for me.
How did I get so lucky?
I finally make it to the end of the aisle, Callum giving me a chaste kiss on the cheek before handing me off to my husband.
Kai shoots me a wink, making me laugh.
The ceremony flies by in a blur. I barely remember reciting our vows, and then we are kissing.
I can’t help but smile as I hear the wedding guests cheer.
“You ready to take on the world, Mrs. Takahasi?”
“With you, I think I can take on anything.”
“Well then, let’s get started.”
The End.
