She smiles, walking away.

As soon as she is out of sight, Nate leans down.

“Are you happy?”

Turning to him, I press my lips to his. “More than happy.”

Epilogue Part One

Hailee

I don’t knowhow I got here. If you had asked me in the beginning of the year if I would be standing on the side of the stage waiting for our team to perform our routine in front of the regional judges after kicking ass at State, I would have asked what the fuck you were smoking. Yet here I am.

I glance back out to the crowd, meeting his eyes.

I would have never believed them about Nate, either. He went from school playboy to devoted boyfriend in the snap of a finger. I can’t be mad about it, though. His eyes never stray from me. Even now, with a whole squad of girls performing on the stage, his eyes are on me, promising me dirty, pleasurable things he plans to do to me later.

I blow him a kiss, making him smile. Then I look next to him, seeing Willow and Chase next to him. Willow smiles and waves at me, so I wave back.

It was hard to reintegrate into their family. I wasn’t sure they really trusted me, nor was I ready to fully trust them.

Months of silence and distance damaged a part of our relationships that needed to be rebuilt. Thankfully, they were willing to put in the time, as was I.

We still have some things to work on, but we are getting there with constant reassurances and a lot of love.

Especially from Nate. The guy can’t keep his hands off of me. Not that I want him to.

The squad on the floor finishes up, leaving the announcer to call out the next team.

“You ready?” Tiffany asks me.

“More than ready. Let’s go kick ass.” I bump her fist with mine.

Then we run onto the mat.

Tiffany is an amazing choreographer. Our routine is flawless and accentuates not only our skill, but our backgrounds. It’s not bubbly and cheery throughout. There are rougher spots, showcasing that we come from Central High and not one of these schools with lots of money.

When it ends, the crowd explodes in applause as we smile at each other, walking off the stage.

“That was amazing. You killed it, Tiffany. I can’t believe you put that together. Did you hear them? They were going crazy.”

Tiffany blushes. “Without you guys, it wouldn’t have worked.”

I smile at her. She’s still a bitch, but she has softened a little over the past couple of months. She finally realized I wasn’t her enemy. I wouldn’t say we are best friends, but I would say that she is more than an acquaintance. I want to see good things happen to her.

“Miss Miller, can we speak to you a moment?” one of the officials calls.

Tiffany looks nervous, but I smile and wave her away.

I watch as she talks to two men; her face turning from nervous to excited.

“You are so sexy,” a voice whispers in my ear as a pair of arms wrap around my center.

“You’re not supposed to be back here.”

He kisses my ear. “Don’t care. Missed you. Needed to touch you.”

I sigh, melting into him. “When you say sweet things like that, I can’t chastise you.”
