“Okay, well let’s get to it then.”

I grab her arm, leading her from the room. I stay close to her as we make our way into the main part of the room.

Immediately, someone walks up to her. She slides her hand into the bag before grabbing his hand. She tucks the money into her bra as she takes a deep breath.

Reaching into the bag, I grab a couple of baggies, shoving them into my jeans. She eyes me, but I give her a small smile, sliding up next to a guy leaning against the wall.

“What can I do for someone as beautiful as yourself?” He smiles down at me.

He’s creepy as fuck, but I ignore my inner warning bells. This is for Katie. For Willow.

If Tiffany put me by her side for the night, that means she wanted me to figure it out. She knows I’m smart. I can help her do this.

“Interested in any party favors?”

He rubs his lip. “What did you have in mind?”

I give him my best seductive smile, leaning into him to whisper in his ear.

“Give me a twenty and you’ll find out.”

He chuckles. “You drive a hard bargain.”

I lean back, biting my lip. “It’s worth it.”

He gives me a wicked smirk. “All right. Show me what a twenty will get me.”

He reaches into his pocket and holds out his hand. I do the same, making the exchange a lot smoother than I would have thought.

His smile widens. “All right then. Any interest in joining me? I’m sure I have another twenty somewhere.”

I shake my head. “Sorry. I have some things I need to do before the night’s up. Raincheck?”

“Sure thing, baby doll. I’ll hold you to it.”

When his hand brushes my hip, I cringe. I play it off though, smiling at the man.

I turn and head back over to Katie, slipping her the twenty. She gives me a grateful smile.

The rest of the night goes much the same. Katie waits for the prey to come to her, but I go hunting. There’s no way we would sell all of this without seeking customers. A few times I’m turned down, but for the most part, everyone seems down. It makes me wonder if this is a Ridge City thing or if I just missed this in the past.

Hours pass when Katie finally cracks a smile.

“There’s two left. I can’t believe we actually did it.”

I smile back. “I told you I had your back. You take one and I’ll take one. Why don’t you try the backyard again and I’ll hit up the living room? Meet in the kitchen in ten and then we can have a celebratory drink.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

I watch her walk outside, glad she’s in a better mood. I make it a couple steps down the hall when I’m pulled into the same room as before. I gasp.

The light flips on, showing me who grabbed me.

The man from the living room. Now, in the light, I can see he has dark hair with darker eyes. Those familiar warning alarms blare in my head. His eyes are clear, which tells me he either already took the pills and they have worn off or he never took them.

“There you are. I’ve been watching you all night. Did you know that you are the sexiest girl here?”

I scoff. “I’m not sure about that.”
