“Don’t let O’Reilly hear you say that,” he quips, making me laugh.
Looking down at my laptop, I get back to work. I methodically dismantle the asshole, starting with taking all his money and depositing it in offshore accounts where after the heat cools off, I will transfer the money to the victims. I find every piece of dirty laundry on the man and send it to a well-trusted source to deal with.
I send evidence to not only his wife but his mother. His wife will leave him and for a momma’s boy like him, his mother’s disapproval will kill him. As I keep digging, the dirtier this man gets, and I love it. Before I know it, my work is done, and the man’s life will be ruined by dawn.
Smiling, I set my laptop on the coffee table and stretch.
“You done?” Enzo asks, reminding me I’m not alone.
“I am.” I smirk. “Let’s just say that went better than I ever could have planned.”
“Good.” He nods. “Now you need to eat. I got you a burger and fries with a milkshake. It was delivered about five minutes ago.”
Suddenly starving, I grab my food and dig in. As soon as I finish, exhaustion hits as I come off my adrenaline rush. Curling up into a ball, I fall asleep right there on the couch.
I rollup my sleeves as I stare at the man in front of me. One thing I cannot stand is a man who puts his hands on a woman. The clock ticking is the only sound in the room as the man hangs from a hook.
“Please,” he begs, face black and blue.
“Did Claire beg? Plead with you to stop hurting her?” I ask calmly as I grab a metal pipe from the table in front of me filled with toys. It’s not very often anymore that I get my hands dirty, but this one feels personal.
I met Greer when she was her age.
“She wouldn’t listen. You have to understand.”
“I have to understand.” I nod, looking at Conor as he leans against the wall. “Do you understand?” I ask him.
“I do not. I have a thing against hurting women.”
I point the pipe at Conor. “I do as well. See, O’Malley, even the worst of the worst don’t hurt women. But you do,” I say slowly. “Did you enjoy it? Did you enjoy seeing her skin turn black and blue? Did you like watching her eyes roll back into her head as she lost consciousness?”
The man hangs his head, knowing his fate.
I swing the pipe, cracking him in the ribs, making him scream out.
“Did her screams turn you on?” I ask as he grunts. I take a swing at his ribs again.
My phone vibrates in my pocket. Tossing the pipe down, I give Conor a nod to take over for a minute while I check my phone.
Greer: Seriously? *picture attached*
A photo of a giant bouquet of roses takes over the screen.
“If you cry out while I’m on the phone, the longer we will drag this out, O’Malley. Do you understand?” I ask as I press call, bringing the phone to my ear.
Conor removes the man’s fingernails one by one, making him whimper. I watch as blood flows from his lip from biting it so hard.
“You’re too much,” she answers.
“Good morning,a ghrá, how did you sleep?”
“Like the dead. You?” She yawns.
“I would have slept better if you were next to me.” I smirk as I watch Conor taunt the man.
“Did I just hear someone crying?” Greer asks.
“Tell me, has room service delivered your coffee yet?” I ask, ignoring her question.
