I squeeze my eyes shut tighter, cuddling into him.
I’m going to miss this.
“I know you’re awake, baby girl.”
I sigh, looking up at him. “I don’t think I’ll ever get used to you being such an early riser. How do you just lie here for hours letting me sleep?”
He chuckles. “It’s easy when I have the most beautiful woman in the world to look at.”
“That sounds creepy, you know.”
“You love it though.” He leans down and kisses me.
As he’s about to deepen the kiss, a knock at the door breaks us apart.
“Enough with whatever you’re doing. Mick, we only have seven more days to finish our list. Get your lazy ass up.”
I groan. “He’s such a cock block.”
Mick chuckles again. “Rest some more, baby. I’ll see you later.”
I watch as he slips from bed and pulls on clothes. When he turns around, his eyes darken with heat. “If you keep looking at me like that, I might say fuck it and fuck you instead.”
I hum. “I wouldn’t say no to that.”
Josh pounds on the door again. “Seriously. Come on. We’re burning daylight.”
“Asshole,” I call out to him as Mick kisses me chastely and makes his way to the door.
He turns back at the last minute and smiles at me. “Love you, baby girl.”
My heart skips a beat. I’ll never get tired of hearing him say those words.
“Love you too.”
After he leaves, I get up and start the day. After a shower, I make my way to the den to grab my laptop.
I smile as I see my fully booked schedule for the week. Mondays are always my day off, unless someone specifically requests it, this is the day I organize my week. The other day I left open this week is Sunday. I usually work Sundays, but this Sunday is the day Mick leaves. My heart aches at the thought.
I push it aside and go to my emails. After answering a couple, I get up and start doing chores around the house.
Before I know it, it’s close to dinnertime. I haven’t heard a peep from the guys all day.
I make my way to the kitchen to start dinner. Just pushed the lasagna into the oven. My cell phone rings.
I smile when I see ‘Mom’ on the screen.
“Hey, Mom. What’s up?” I ask Nina.
“Hey. I was trying to get a hold of Aiden, but he’s not answering his phone.”
“He’s out doing work with Josh. I expect them back soon. Is there something I can do for you?”
“Can you tell Aiden that Caleb Montgomery called for him? He’s been trying to reach him all day too. It seems time sensitive.”
“Of course. I’ll see if I can find them. I’ll call you back soon.”
“Thanks, dear. I love you.”
