“Wait, can you repeat that?” I turn away from Garrett, listening.
“Yes, Nick got in trouble. If you could come down here, the principal would like to meet with you.”
I look at the watch on my wrist and note the time. “Yeah, I can be there in the next twenty-thirty minutes, depending on traffic.”
“We will see you soon.” The lady hangs up.
I turn back to Garrett. “I need a warm washcloth now and then I have to go.” I walk down the hall and grab my bag before turning around. I set the bag on Garrett’s bed, pulling my work clothes out.
Garrett comes out of the bathroom, washcloth in hand. “Everything okay?”
I take the washcloth. “Thank you. And no, but it will be.” I clean myself up, tossing the washcloth into the clothes hamper across the room and start pulling my clothes on.
“I was looking forward to showering with you.”
I look up at him. “I was too. Sadly, we don’t get everything we want.” I sigh.
“Are you sure you’re okay? I could come with you.”
I slip into my clothes, looking at him. “I’m good. I promise. Thank you for offering, though.”
Garrett looks into my bag and pulls out my heels. “Sit.”
I sit on the edge of the bed, putting my earrings in. I watch him kneel in front of me, slipping my heels on my feet, fastening the buckles. “Thank you,” I whisper.
He leans forward, kissing each knee. “You’re welcome,mi reina.” He stands up, holding his hand out for me, helping me stand.
I step into him, kissing him softly. “How hasn’t someone snapped you up yet?”
He kisses me softly. “Because none of them were you.” He slaps my ass. “Go fix your hair before you get on the road. I want to know about whatever that call was later.”
“Yeah, yeah,” I call over my shoulder, walking into the bathroom. I run my fingers through my hair, quickly braiding it off to the side. “That will do for now.” I sigh. I walk back out and don’t see Garrett. I grab my bag off the bed and walk into the hall. “Where are you?”
“One sec,” he hollers. I grab my purse from the floor and slide it onto my arm. Garrett rounds the corner, a travel mug in hand. “Here, I made you a coffee.” He hands me the mug.
“Thank you,” I tell him sincerely.
“Of course.” He kisses me softly. “Drive safe, I’ll see you later.”
“Bye.”

Garrett
After a quick shower,I hurry and get dressed, hoping maybe, just maybe I can steal Reagan away for a late lunch.
“Hey, you look like you’re in a hurry,” Will teases.
“Yeah, I need to go see someone.”
“Is that someone Reagan Kelly?”
I tense. “Maybe.”
“Relax man, I’m only messing around. She’s an exceptional lady, she would be good for you.”
“Thanks.”
