Taeja opened her mouth to answer, but no words came out. She wasn’t sure what label to give the twins.
“Where are you coming from, Taeja?” Jerry pressed.
“Out.” Taeja shrugged, side-stepping him. She ignored his footsteps trailing behind her into the kitchen. She grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, turning around to face her dad with her eyebrows raised.
He narrowed his eyes at her. “Yu tek mi fi eedyat? You have no self-respect!”
She yanked the bottle from her mouth and lowered her hand. Her grip tightened around the bottle, causing water to splash over the rim and make a puddle on the floor. Mi have self-respect!”
Jerry scoffed. “Yu can have self-respect and outta road a whore out yuself to every man weh look pon yu?!”
That stung.
“I-I don’t…”
Jerry huffed. “School needs to hurry and resume so you can come out of this house. I do not know what you are turning into.”
Watching after her father’s departing figure, Taeja sighed. She wished she could erase her father walking in on her and his boss.
But what could Taeja say? She didn’t have much else to say other than that Mr. Cosby had a talented tongue. She’d experienced it on a separate occasion and wanted to feel it again. He must have been raised by a rattlesnake. His wife was a stupid woman to divorce him two years ago.
Dismissing the old memory, she hurried to her room and called Liyah.
Liyah answered after the first ring. “How was it?!” she squealed into the line.
“Ah!” Taeja screamed from excitement, dropping onto the bed belly first.
“Which one of them is bigger?!”
“I’m not answering that!” Taeja said. “Mi seh, that was the best sex of my life!”
“Dem angle triangle yu, nuh true?”
“Right through!” Taeja exclaimed with an unwavering smile. “I’m still so sore, but it was worth it. Mi afi find dem yard tomorrow.”
“Yu cya mek yu front rest first?”
“I’ll rest when I’m dead,” Taeja joked. “Get two man fi fuck yu one time, then you’ll see what I mean.”
“Me? Yu nuh see how mi man likkle and boring? That’s why mi naa stop give him bun.”
Taeja scoffed. “You should be loyal.”
Liyah laughed dryly. “Says Taeja? My friend who enjoys having sex with older married men?”
“I don’t!” Taeja defended. She’d never seen them with wedding rings until the next morning when they slipped them on before they left her. Taeja was many things, but she wasn’t a home wrecker. It wasn’t her fault the men lied that they were single.
“Mm, whatever girl. Anyway, I do love Mason. The sex just isn’t as spicy as one time… Wanna share your twins?”
A hot flash of jealousy crossed her, and Taeja glared at Liyah. “Girl, bye,” she hissed.
Sure, the Stark twins were practically still strangers, but after what happened earlier? She didn’t plan on letting them go.
Her only concern was if they felt the same.
Probably not.
Men never wanted her for anything other than sex.
