Ryder guffaws, "Vanquisher of Darkness?"

"You wanted professional ass-kicking, I gave it to you." I shrug with a smile, and with a mental call Xena pops in, takes the letter with a brief lick at my face, and is off again.

At that point,it just became a game, one that I was winning.

Your Majesty,

We appreciate your concern for the welfare of the Fae, but we assure you that the council members are deeply committed to the well-being of our people. We have been diligently working to ensure that our decisions are made with the best interests of our community in mind. It is disappointing to hear that you have doubts about our dedication to this cause. We welcome your thoughts.

Your Esteemed Council

I laughed at that response, considering no decisions were being made. So I had written them an even longer missive in response.

"My dear council members,

I am glad to hear that my message has reached you. Please do not misunderstand my intentions. I have the utmost respect for the traditions of our people, but I believe it is time to start thinking outside the bubble. We cannot continue to rely on the same old ways if we want to progress and thrive as a community.

I never intended to imply that you do not care about our people. However, I do believe that we can do more to serve them. Sitting in a room for hours on end, debating over trivial matters, does not serve anyone. I urge you to consider the bigger picture and make decisions for the greater good of our people.

I hope we can continue to work together in a spirit of mutual respect and collaboration.

Yours truly,

Rhiona of Faell, Queen of the Unseelie. The Light of Truth, The Vine of the Divine, The Stabber of Unseelie, the Unifier of All.

It tooka while for them to respond to that one. But they eventually did.

Your Majesty Hudson,

We, the members of the Fae Council, request your presence at a formal meeting to discuss matters of utmost importance. While we appreciate the letters that you have sent us, we believe that a face-to-face meeting would be more appropriate for someone of your station. It is imperative that we come to a decision on these matters as soon as possible, and we believe that your presence would greatly aid in reaching a swift resolution.

Please inform us of your availability, and we shall make the necessary arrangements for your attendance to a Royal Conclave

Respectfully,

The Fae Council
