Goddess Gaia-Ancient Goddess of Greek Mythology. She was the primordial and personification of the earth. Gaia has absolute control and manipulation over rocks and plants of the world. She was described as the nourisher of young children and plants and as the giver of dreams. In the modern world scientists use Gaia to describe the earth as a complex living organism. In some legends she was considered one of the Titans. (Greek equivalent to Danu)
Grindylow-Water fairy who lives at the bottom of pits, ponds, and wells that grabs small children and holds them underwater until they drown.
Grundels-Found in the homes of larger elves/Fae, they have a symbiotic relationship where they will work for elves in exchange for a safe and happy home.
Kelpies-Associated with water and believed to be carnivorous and cannibalistic. Male kelpies can shift and lure young women into the water to consume them.
Krom- Also called the Harvest Lord and the Summer King. He is the Horned God of the Faery Tradition and as such may be aligned with Cernunnos and Pan. As a Sun God he is the radiance of the sun (especially as it nourishes and energizes life), and the life-giving powers of virility. In a common form his skin shines with the golden light of the summer's sun, and his neck is adorned with a swathe of green leaves and summer flowers. He has the head of a stag--a reminder that he is primal in nature. He is the son, lover, and the other half of the Great Mother. Like most horned gods he is overtly sexual, but is also a nurturer ... he is the god in his aspect as Father and Lover, and as such may be prayed to for guidance, and even as a surrogate for those roles if need be. His traditional emblem is the golden sun.
Oberon- (Obi-ri-ahn)-Originated from Celtic lore and known as a fairy who owned a magical cup. This cup could provide food and fine wine. Represented in various histories and stories throughout time. An old king of the Seelie, married to Tatiana, but took the throne when she was said to die, in a version of lore. Oberon was known as ruthless and cunning in his battles. He was a leader who had a network of spies and ruthless mercenaries trained in secret by himself. Those who were able to survive his training tactics, were integral to his reign as they were sent out as "whisperers" who brought back information from any court.

O'Donoghue-The Fairy King of the Lough Lean Fairies in Ireland. Was known to rule over his subjects with justice, kindness and wisdom. He is a renowned warrior known for his pacific virtue rides where he would come from his underwater home upon his war horse before disappearing again into the lakeside mist of Lock Killarney. As the King of the Lough Leane Fairies in Ireland, O'Donoghue would belong to the Seelie Court, which is associated with the Summer and represents the lighter, more benevolent aspects of faerie-kind.

Trooping Fairies- Small, benevolent, and kind, freely helping humans. On occasion one of the Trooping Fae will take a mortal human as a spouse. Tend to wear green jackets and live in social communities overseen by a monarch.

Tatiana-In Shakespearian Lore, married to Oberon. Defends the right of a woman to choose for herself, for sexual independence and to have sovereignty over their body and soul. Committed Adultery and had a child with her favorite human companion. In many histories, however, Tatiana was a Queen who led with an iron fist, and although she was a Seelie Queen, it was her brutality that gained her power. She was killed in battle.

Tuatha De Danann-People of the Goddess Dana, were the magical and mythological race who lived in Ireland and defeatedFirbolgsandFomoriansfor control of the country. They ruled Ireland for three thousand years until the Milesians fought them for control. However, none of them were able to gain the advantage. A deal struck, the Milesians would rule the surface world while The Tuatara de Danann would have dominion over the rest. This included the fairy mounds, the invisible islands of the fae and the underworld. These timeless immortals would still interact with the surface world but only when the veil between the two realms is thin. Described as being aristocratic, fair-skinned, perfectly physically fit, tall and skilled in poetry, magic and science.
Seelie Court-A 'blessed court' that is made up of "Light elves," known to do good things and bring good luck. This court is made up of aristocratic and benignTrooping Fairiesand are believed to be the last of theTuatha De Danann. Considered the most heroic and beautiful of fairies. Although the Seelie Fairies once interacted with humans they are now indifferent to mortals and their affairs. The Fairies of the Seelie Court are quick to avenge an insult or injury delivered on them.

Selkies-In terms of power base, selkies are considered to be quite powerful among the sea and water-based fae. They are known for their ability to control water and their connection to the ocean, and are often regarded as protectors of sailors and fishermen. Their shapeshifting abilities also make them formidable, as they can take on the form of a seal or human depending on their needs. However, their strength can vary depending on the individual selkie and their level of skill and experience. Overall, selkies are a respected and powerful presence in the fae world.

Sheoques-In the folklore of Ireland, they are fairies who live in the thorn bushes they hold sacred. Generally benign. Their singing and dancing is said to be so beautiful and relaxing that mortals forget their cares and stop to listen. (Think of when you space out suddenly. Is it the melodies of the Sheoque?)
Shakespearian Fairies-Fairies written about by Elizabethan English playwright and poet, William Shakespeare, are superior to man, as they often speak about human frailty and weakness. By night these fairies are thought to sing and dance and make merry beneath the moon and stars. Shakespeare's fairies are not the Fae from popular stories, they are typically smaller in nature, happy and helpful. Known to be amusing, beautiful, fascinating, harmless and poetic.
*Fun Note-Shakespeare had an interpretation of Oberon and Tatiana, traditionally malicious fairies that people stopped writing about for fear they would be targeted in retaliation

Suleyman-Kings of the Djinn
Unseelie Court-An 'unblessed court' of dark fae. They are known to be injurious and malicious, consisting mostly of Solitary Fairies, especially those associated with spirits and the dead. avoid light and can be intimidating when provoked. According to various legends, the members of the Unseelie Court are those fairies who fell out of favor or were cast out of the Seelie Court.
