Celene-Current actually unseelie queen

Changeling-An ugly fairy child put in place of a kidnapped human child.

Dark Man- In Irish lore, this entity is a type of malevolent fae or spirit that is associated with darkness and malevolence, seen as a physical and solid embodiment of death. He is sometimes depicted as a shadowy figure that may bring bad luck, misfortune, or even death to those who encounter him. He is an independent entity, not explicitly serving any particular master or higher being. He typically operates on his own and is driven by his own motives and desires.

Dew Fairies-This pixie is a special breed of fairy. Her responsibility is to decorate the Fairy Queen's flowers with pearls of dew, which can transform a mere blade of grass into a jewel-encrusted sword or a spider's web into a festooned bib necklace...the fairies are as light as thistledown and wear thin floating dresses of silvery green and tiny crowns made of dew and are very merry and busy. As the dew fairies dance, dew showers down from their hands and hair like shiny silver beads to cool the grass and flowers after the heat of the day. They chase away a spider with a maelstrom of dew while stringing his web with glistening droplets as fine as lace.

Dragons-Existing in almost all cultures, they are also tied to fairy lore.

Dryad-One of the twelve species of nymphs, they are of the forest and the trees, particularly oak trees. They have the power to punish those who harm trees and reward those who actively extend and protect their trees. Life of the dryad is tied to its tree.

Djinn-Race of Arabian fairies. Also considered demonic in nature. They are formed of fire, or are the offspring of fire, and in their veins flows flame instead of blood. They are said to know the secrets of power sources of the universe and understand the turbulent passions that ignite the human soul. Hence their ability to grant wishes as genies. Extremely powerful beings, governed by their own monarchs called Suleyman.

Dwarf-Short, but powerfully built, are beneficent and will assist those who treat them with respect. They prefer the night and because they are isolationists, they are said to be members of the Unseelie court; however, the lore varies on these creatures.

Earth Fairies- Spirits of tree, flower, stone and cave. They tend to all that lives and their wisdom is imporatant for our bodies and our lives, for without proper contact with the Element of Earth, we can acheieve nothing.

Elemental Fairy- Fae linked to the primal power of the elemental forces of nature, air, earth, fire, and water. Each is own species. Air- Sylph, Earth- Gnomes, Fire- Salamanders, Water- Nereids.

Fairy King/Queen- Individual fairy beings who rule over a court of subjects, as much as Fae can be ruled. In Scotland, the royal Fairy King and Queen are recognized by ancient law.

Fairy Triad- In the Celtic fairy tradition, a fairy triad is a place where ash, oak, and thorn trees are all growing together; where this occurs, the area is considered to be a sacred grove, and a place inhabited by the Dryads.

Fairy Land-The homeland of the Fae, described as being an enchanted place where happiness abounds, no illness or death, where time stands still. Although the entryways into the realm of the Fae are located here on Earth, Fairy Land is said to be attainable underground or underwater, while other times it is described as being in a nearby dimension or in-between place, invisible to the human eye.

The Fates-Depicted as three sisters who guide over the fate of man rather than control or determine it. In many accounts, they are more powerful than Gods.

Firbolgs-men of the leather sack, forced to carry soil from the plains of Thrace up to the mountain side to enrich the quality of soil in the vineyards

Fomorians-At one point in time they were the fairy race ruling over the country of Ireland. They were skilled in the magical arts and were a warlike people and ruled the land with brutality. Driven off by the Tuatha de Danann. Overtime they began to de-evolve and their physical appearance changed to misshapen bodies and animal-like. No two were alike. They became foul tempered, uncultured and unintelligent.

Furies-Primary concern is the retribution for the killing of family members. We link them with darkness, death, night, and the Underworld. In fact, we also know them to drink the blood of mortals.

Gnomes-Shy and cautious by nature, they seek the company of their own kind.

Goblin-A fairy with injurious or malicious intent.

Gods and Goddesses- These are generic terms for the many deities of ancient and modern polytheistic religions. Such deities may correspond to earthly and celestial phenomena or to human values, pastimes and institutions including love, marriage, hunting, war and the arts.

*Important to Note*- Gods and Goddesses can change depending on which culture you are researching. Oftentimes the same God or Goddess you know well is actually the equivalent (or vice versa) of the same God or Goddess from another culture. For example Gaia is the Greek equivalent to Danu who is her Celtic equivalent.

Goddess Danu-Most ancient God of Celtic mythology. She was referred to as the mother of the Irish gods, which indicated that she was amother goddess.In this Guise she represented the earth and its fruitfulness. (Celtic equivalent to Gaia)
