We watchedas Hudson went outside and we turned back to Kalen, who had a smirk on his face.

“So how have you boys been holding up with her around you?”

“Truthfully?” I shook my head, putting my coffee down. “It’s been hell.” The guys nodded in agreement. “She’s either enticing the hell out of us, driving us crazy, or making us want to punch whoever looks in her direction.” I scrubbed my hand across my face.

Ryder laughed, “It’s been a very interesting few days is what he means. We knew we wanted to be with her for years…”

“But having it confirmed that she really was our endgame makes everything feel, I don’t know…” I murmured.

“As if your entire world is on fire? Like your heart and your mind are racing to catch up to one another every time she is in the same room?” Kalen smirked.

“Exactly,” we all said at the same time.

“That is never going to stop. Being Fae means having magic as our core. So, when you are mated to a Fae, it truly is magic; colors seem brighter, touches linger, kisses burn and every second with your mated is a combination of awe and sweet torture. You will always yearn to have each other close, to remain in constant contact; It is as if every single nerve in your body is alive with an emotion so profound, it is almost tangible.” I felt every word he uttered, as if the world would burn before I ever thought of her as anything other than perfection.

“Does it come with the desire to punch everyone in the face if they even look her way? Because I feel a thousand times more volatile than usual, and that is saying something,” joked Hunter. We all laughed; he wasn’t wrong.

“You will be more protective, but so will she. So, keep that in mind because that means you all will be more volatile towards threats, both emotional and physical.” I frowned at that.

“Emotional?” Asked Grayson. Kalen chuckled, “Oh, you’ll see. You think an angry Hudson is bad? Imagine a jealous Hudson- we are ridiculously possessive.” We all groaned. We can’t go back into that school again; she would probably set girls on fire.

Kalen let out a belly laugh, and I shook my head.Fucker.The doorbell rang and we all looked at each other. Who the hell would be coming by the house? I got up to answer the door and frowned when I saw Joshua with a few of his friends on the doorstep. Technically, if we wouldn’t have been on an advanced track, we would be just a year apart, so we were all around the same age and knew each other pretty well. Didn’t mean I wanted them hanging out with Hudson. At all.

He cleared his throat and smiled, “Hey Zane, I texted Hudson and she said it was cool if we came by, dropped off her work and came to hang out for a few.” I frowned and nodded.

“Sure, you guys cut the rest of the day? You are all lucky our asses aren’t there today or we would have dragged your asses back and put you through your paces.”

He laughed, “Yeah we don’t doubt it. Why do you think we even bothered leaving? Heads up though, Madison heard us talking about it. I think she and her friends might invite themselves over,” He rolled his eyes. I groaned. Fuck. Well, this was going to be a cluster fuck.

Hudson

I turnedup the music as Evanescence “Bring Me to Life,” started playing. I got up and stretched and walked to the edge of the water fall before diving into the deep end. Remi came to sit at the edge of the pool singing along to the lyrics while I swam around.

“You know that bathing suit is going to drive the guys crazy right?” She teased, with a heated look in her eye. I swam to where she was sitting and pulled myself slightly out of the water, leaning on the side of the pool.

“Just them?” I flirted. She laughed and leaned over to kiss me.

“You’ve been driving me crazy since I saw you take the damn cover-up off,” she groaned, and I laughed. I jumped up and out the pool and walked back up to the waterfall, dragging her with me.

“We need to have a dive off!” I yelled. She laughed at me and flipped me off. “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe started to play and we started doing the Running Man and Cabbage Patch, laughing before we dove in the water. We came back up laughing, pushing our hair off our faces. Well, we laughed until we realized we had an audience. Zane cleared his throat and I looked up to see him, Hunter, Gray and Ryder looking at me, a combination of lust and anger on their faces, with Joshua and his friends behind them. I grimaced at their expressions.Well at least I knew which emotion was clearly going to win this battle.I sighed and smiled.

“Hey Josh! Thanks for coming by. You guys can get comfortable; no need to stand there.”

My eyes flicked to Remi, who was holding back a laugh at the over-the-top voice but fuck her, I was trying to cover my ass, which I realized was painfully uncovered. Joshua stepped around the guys as he approached the side of the pool, his friends grabbing loungers and talking while keeping their eyes on us. I rolled my eyes inwardly- don’t let people fool you guys gossip just as much as girls do.

“Hey Hudson, Remi, you two look gorgeous. Are you guys playing with body paint?” He said curiously as he looked at me and Remi’s marks. Fuck, I looked at her and she opened her mouth before I could.

“We figured since we skipped the day, we could do something fun, but when I bought the paint, I didn’t realize it was semi-permanent,” Remi frowned as she explained. Way better actress than me, by the way. “We figured we will use magic later to take it off,” she shrugged and smiled. “We even convinced those old men to put it on too. You should have seen them bitch and moan, it was priceless.” She winked at the guys and the laugh I was holding back busted out of me. The guys frowned and I tried to hold it back, grinning like an idiot instead.

Joshua laughed, “I would have loved to see that. The untouchable four, made into canvases? Priceless.” I looked at the guys and Joshua curiously.
