“I didn’t,” I shrugged. “I woke up one day and it had started changing, I thought it was stress. Doctors didn’t stress, so we eventually just let it go. I even did some research, figuring there must be something out there about tough bitches getting white hair prematurely.” I joked.

She rolled her eyes. “If there was anyone who did that research, it would be fucking you.” She laughed.

“Ha-ha, shut it. Did you bring Cerberus with you? I thought it would be cool if you brought him too.”

“I would have, but he said he would show up when he was good and ready and not a moment before. He tends to just pop in and out at will, like interdimensional traveling.”

“That is fucking awesome.” I gaped and looked at Xena. “Is that how you randomly appear in my room if I don’t open the door?”

Yes, but it makes me tired. I must practice.

“She said it makes her tired and she has to practice more, but that's freaking awesome. Imagine the battle benefits. If I had known, I would have been making her practice a lot more.”

“She will get the hang of it. Maybe if Cerberus isn’t grumpy, he can help her.”

Xena looked at her and growled.

“Okay, or maybe you don't need help,” Remi laughed.

We chuckled at Xena’s reaction and continued to eat breakfast when suddenly the room got just a tad quieter. Remi and I looked at each other when two guys sat down in the chairs next to us and smiled.

“Hello, ladies. I’m Jensi and this is Luca.” Luca smiled at us. “We just wanted to come say hello.”

“That’s nice,” I drawled out. I blinked at them.

“Did you need something?” Remi asked and I hid a smile while I took a bite of my breakfast. Jensi and Luca looked confused but smiled anyway.

“Nope, we hung out at the mixer this weekend and saw you and we wanted to come by and say what’s up. Also, you sat at the table typically reserved for the snobs. Figured you would want a heads up. They can be brutal,” answered Jensi, with a roll of his eyes. I smirked, well that’s nice. I guess.

“Ah okay, you looked a little familiar, but we were totally done that night,” I laughed. “It is nice to meet you sober.”

“Yeah, that night was definitely a night to remember, even if I only remember half,” Jensi grimaced.

“Yeah, because you spent Sunday throwing up half your memories, dude,” Luca teased.

We joked and laughed about the truth or dare games that got us drunk until Luca sucked in a deep breath. “Incoming, queen bitch and her posse of cunts,” he sing-songed and smiled.

“Don’t worry, boys, I have a feeling they won’t last long,” laughed Remi. Jensi and Luca looked at each other and grimaced. I smiled at them, they needed to relax. I was a loner, not a pussy.

A high-pitched shrill voice sounded behind me. “Who are you freshman bitches and why are you at the seniors table? This is ours.”

Xena growled, but I sent her a mental message to let me handle it. I turned around, barely sparing the redhead a glance but noting quickly her sharp nose, pretty blue eyes, false eyelashes and a face full of makeup. Her shirt was one size too small, to bring attention to her chest, and her skirt was short, but not in a sexy Hudson way, but in a more desperate kind of way. She looked like a socialite hanger-on. She probably thought the world owed her something too. Well, I grew up in that world and I hated it there, and I damn sure didn’t appreciate it trying to take human form and breathing down my neck.

“Hmm,” I drummed my fingers on the table. “I suggest you walk away and sit somewhere else then. Because not only is your annoying ass voice interrupting my breakfast, but also, I don’t give a fuck about what ever social hierarchy you think you got going here,” I said calmly.

Remi smiled behind her glass of juice and I felt eyes draw in our direction. I groaned internally. When I said I wanted to meet people, I didn't mean this way.

“What’s this, Trish? Who are these…” he sneered “degenerates? Freshman? Must be, looks like Jensi and Luca decided to go fishing for fresh meat.” A blond Malfoy looking guy walked around and put his arm around the red head’s shoulder, a group of guys following suit. Do people travel in packs here?

“Real original there, Derrick.” Jensi pinched the bridge of his nose, “Go the fuck away.”

Derrick laughed. “You know it does not work that way here,” he drawled and sat down at the table with his friends.

“Okay,” I finished eating and cleaned my mouth with a napkin. “So, tell me. How does it work here?”

“We don’t have time to educate you,” Trish huffed, clearly annoyed at being ignored. “Besides,” she slammed her tray next to mine. Bold. “Derrick, don’t worry about them, they were just leaving,” Trish said.

“Actually, no, Malfoy, we weren’t leaving. We’re going to sit here, relax, and the rest of your sycophants can go sit in the dungeons or wherever assholes like you congregate for sacrifices.”
