It didn’t help the team dynamic. Fortunately, we were simply doing a bodyguard assignment for a band, and there really weren’t any threats. Normally, we wouldn’t take on something like that, but Reed is friends with the band’s manager and offered our services.

The only thing they needed to be saved from were the high-pitched screams of their middle school-aged fans. Well, that and some drama amongst themselves. Between the band and Moose, I’m happy to be home.

On the ride from the airport, I texted Willow to let her know I’m back and would love to see her tomorrow night. Honestly, Idon’t want to wait that long, but I refuse to treat her like a booty call, which is what it would look like if I went to see her tonight.

My phone buzzes, and I smile, certain it’s Willow. But it’s not.

Trip:I saw you just got back. Have you seen the latest on Tyler Bentley?

I stare at the message, and then I call him. “You saw I just got back?”

“Axel didn’t mention it? He asked me to keep an eye on your place in case Tyler had any associates who came back. I hacked into your security cameras. No one has been around.”

“Thanks. I think.”

He laughs. “Don’t worry. I won’t be hacking in again unless you ask me to.”

“That’s good. And no, I haven’t seen anything new about Tyler since you told me he was dead.”

“Here, I’ll send you the link.”

It leads to a news story. I scan it quickly. The police found the video on his computer where he names two men, and apparently, it has been shared on social media.

“The police shared it on social media?” That doesn’t make sense.

Trip laughs. “They claim they didn’t. Their official statement is they are looking for a leak who may have shared it.”

I have a sinking feeling that maybe Willow or Samantha did. If anything is traced back to them, they could be in danger again.

“Have they arrested Hyde yet?”

“No,” Trip says. “Looks like he was forewarned about the video, and he left the country.”

“Thanks for the update. And thanks for keeping an eye on my place.”

“No problem,” Trip says. “But before you go, there’s one more thing.”

I rub my temple, hoping it isn’t about Tyler.

“Harding asked me to look into some things for her,” he says.

Well, that’s surprising. “I thought she had her own guy.”

He laughs. “She does, but she wanted to keep this check outside the CIA because she wasn’t sure who was involved.”

“Is this about Damien?”

“It is. And she told me to pass the information on to you. She asked me to tap into some video cameras. I don’t know the details except I’m supposed to send you a photo and tell you it’s Natalie. I’m sending it now. I need to go. Hope it all makes sense.”

“It does. Thanks again.”

I end the call and check his message. The photo is slow to load. It’s a still from a video and a bit grainy. The woman has brown hair and is wearing a black coat and a dark-green scarf. She’s familiar, but it doesn’t look like Nancy, from what I can see. The woman’s head is turned, and I can only see part of it.

Durango:Do you have any photos of her face straight on?

Trip:No, she looked down the entire time.

I stare at the photo one more time, but I don’t glean anything new. I yawn and decide to go to bed.
