“I don’t know.”
Delia dug into the bag and came up with a second muffin. “How come?”
“Well, it was kind of a vacation thing.” Veronica shrugged. “And now that we’re home...”
“Oh.” Delia nodded sagely. “What happens in Bermuda stays in Bermuda?”
“Something like that. Maybe. We never really talked about it, which is weird, because we talked about everything else.”
“He talked?” Delia’s eyes widened. “Shane talked? In more than grunts?”
Veronica laughed. “He talked a lot. Sex makes him chatty.”
“Well, who’d have thought.” Delia took a bite of muffin and chewed, a thoughtful look on her face. “Do you want to bang him again?”
“Jesus, Delia. Who says bang?”
“I say bang,” Delia declared around a mouthful of food. “Bang is a perfectly good word. Succinct, unambiguous, and flavorful.”
“Flavorful.” Veronica shook her head. “Stop coming over here when you’re medicated, will you?”
“You’d never see me again,” Delia pointed out.
“I know.”
“Ha. Anyway, back to the banging. Do you want to?”
Veronica sipped her coffee. “Yeah, I do.”
“Then I say go for it. What’ve you got to lose?”
“I don’t know. I liked him, Dee.”
Delia paused. “You mean you liked him as in you liked his dick and the multiple yums, or as in you’d bake him his favorite cookies for no reason on a Tuesday?”
Veronica sighed. “The second one.”
“Aw. That’s great, sweetie.”
“I don’t know. His life is kind of complicated.”
“You mean the poly thing or the bisexual thing?”
“I don’t care that he’s bisexual. That’s not a deal-breaker at all.”
“But being poly is?”
“Honestly?” She thought about it for a minute. “I don’t know. Would you date a guy who was in a relationship with someone else?”
“No.” Delia nibbled on her muffin, looking thoughtful. “I’d fuck him, especially if a threesome was on the table. But date? I don’t think I could handle it.”
She picked up her coffee cup. “But we’re not talking about me. The question is, can you handle it?”
“I don’t know.” Veronica frowned. “I like Wyatt. And it’s clear they love each other.”
“How do you feel about that?”
“Happy,” Veronica decided. “It makes me happy that Shane has someone who loves him that much.”
