Page 115 of Sharing Shane

“I should really introduce you to my friend Delia,” Veronica said once she’d stopped laughing. “Do you have any moral or ethical objection to marijuana consumption?”

“Well, it smells gross,” Lucy said with a grimace, “and I don’t want the smoke around the baby.”

“She’s an edibles girl, so that’s not a problem,” Veronica said. “Maybe after you have the kiddo there and are ready to socialize, we can all get together for lunch or something.”

“That’s a date.” Lucy set her milkshake aside and laid her hands on her belly. “So, how are you?”

“I’m good. Busy at work, but I like it.”

“And how’re things with Shane?”

She knew her smile was dreamy, but she couldn’t help it. “Things are good.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. Why do you ask?”

Lucy shrugged. “You haven’t talked about him in group since that first time, so I wondered if maybe you were having second thoughts about getting involved with him.”

“I’m mostly in listening mode when I’m there,” Veronica said. “I have so much to learn, and everybody has such good insight.”

“It’s a good group,” Lucy agreed. “So, everything’s fine? No problems?”

“No, not really.” Veronica sipped her coffee. “I mean, the schedule is sometimes a pain in the ass.”

Lucy grinned. “Ah, the poly lament.”

Veronica laughed. “But other than that, there haven’t been any big hitches.”

“You really like him,” Lucy said.

“Yeah.” Veronica didn’t even try to wipe the dopey smile from her face. “I do.”

“Aw.” Lucy grinned. “No big issues with his other relationship?”

Veronica shook her head. “I think it helps that I met them together, you know? I knew them as partners before I even thought of being with Shane romantically, so Wyatt’s always been in the picture.”

“Do you spend a lot of time with him?” Lucy asked. “Other than the threesome, that is.”

“I can’t believe I told you about that,” Veronica muttered, her cheeks heating.

“It’s okay,” Lucy said and patted Veronica’s hand. “I have threesomes, too.”

Veronica laughed. “God, my life has gotten weird.”

Lucy beamed. “Great, isn’t it?”

“To answer the question, yes and no. No more naked time, but we’ve all had dinner together a few times.”

“All of you meaning...?”

“Shane, Wyatt, Seth and me.”

“And how’s that?”

“It’s fine. Fun.”

“It doesn’t get weird?”
