She pushed the door open. “We weren’t that bad.”

He stepped in behind her and closed the door. “Uh-huh.”

“We weren’t,” she insisted. “Seth didn’t mind.”

“He’s used to Wyatt running the conversation.”

“He seemed nice.”

“He is.” Shane eyed her curiously as she walked into the living area and set down her purse. “Did you think he wouldn’t be?”

“No.” She frowned slightly, slipping off her sandals. “I guess I expected him to act weird around you.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re dating his husband?” She wrinkled her nose. “I’m still having trouble wrapping my head around it all.”

“Understandable.” He tossed his key card on the kitchen counter and went to the fridge. “Were you uncomfortable?”

“Not really. Seth seemed amused, but I figure that’s just because I was acting like a wide-eyed rube.”

“No, that’s because of Wyatt.” He held up a bottle of water. “Want?”

“No, thanks. What do you mean, it’s because of Wyatt?”

He closed the fridge and twisted the cap off his water. “He can’t stop talking about you, which amuses Seth.”

Her mouth formed a silent ‘O’ of surprise. “He can’t stop talking about me?”

“It’s your tits.” Shane gestured with the water bottle. “He’s obsessed.”

Veronica looked down at her breasts with a smile. “Well, they are excellent.”

“He likes all of you, actually,” Shane amended, not wanting to give her the wrong idea. “He has a little crush on you.”

The smile morphed into a grin. “Aw, really?”

“Completely un-romantic,” he clarified. “But he’d definitely like to fuck you.”

She hitched a hip on the arm of the sofa. “He mentioned that the other night on the beach.”

“Did he?”

“He’s shameless. And cute.”

“Adorable,” Shane agreed drily. “Can I ask you a couple of questions?”

“Sure.”

He gestured with the water bottle. “We’re sleeping together tonight, right?”

“I thought we were.” She tilted her head, curiosity and a tinge of disappointment in her gaze. “Have you changed your mind?”

“No, I was just making sure you hadn’t.”

“Oh.” Her smile bloomed. “No, I haven’t changed my mind.”

“Good. Second question. What do you have on under that dress?”
