Page 152 of Shattered By Grace

Blood splattered across Victoria’s knuckles, but she didn’t stop.

Another.

Lena’s body twitched. But she was still grinning.

Victoria hit her again. And again. And again.

Until finally…the perfect opening.

Victoria’s fist shot forward, knuckles slamming into Lena’s throat with a sickening crunch.

Lena’s body seized, eyes widening, hands flying to her neck.

Her mouth opened, lips forming a sound that never came.

Her body went slack.

She twitched and then went still.

The crowd had gone eerily silent.

She barely heard the whispers.

The ref lunged forward, grabbing Victoria’s wrist and yanking her back. “Step away! Now!”

She stumbled, breath ragged, as Lena’s lifeless body slumped against the bloodied mat.

The ref dropped to his knees, fingers pressing against Lena’s throat, searching desperately.

Nothing.

Slowly, he lifted a shaking hand and signaled. Fight over.

Silence.

Thick. Unforgiving. Deafening.

The crowd exploded, chanting Victoria’s name.

But she heard nothing. The pure panic in her head was louder.

I just killed someone.

Victoria barely felt the blood dripping from her hands.

She felt something sharp lodged in her knuckles.

She lifted her hand slightly, breath hitching when she saw it.

A sharp, white fragment buried in the torn skin of her fist. A tooth.

Victoria exhaled shakily, fingers curling slightly.

But movement caught her attention on the platform above.

She turned her head, just in time to see Cassian’s body hit the floor.

Her stomach twisted.
