I can’t stop thinking about him. That’s a bad sign.
If I’m to treat him just as a hook-up, then I need to not have him on my mind so much.
“Do you work around here? I’ve been in the city to do some shopping with my friend.”
“I do. It’s not far. Richmond Academy. It’s my first semester.”
“Ah, a very good school. Or it should be for what we pay for my brats to attend.”
“Oh yeah? How many of your children go there?”
“It was four, but my eldest went to college last year and my second oldest is due to leave soon too. It’s the best school we looked at. Good exam statistics.”
“I like it so far.”
“I should head home to the mad house. I swear I could shop so much longer in my younger days, now I need my couch.” She smiles, amused. “It was nice to chat with you…?”
“I can’t believe I’ve told you my whole life saga and didn’t give my name,” I offer a hand belatedly as she stands to leave. “It was really nice to talk with you, too. I’m Delaney Sloan.”
“Nice to meet you, too, sweetie. I’m Sena Fierro. And if Lachlan, Raene or Sage Fierro ever give you any trouble at school, you tell them you know their momma, that should scare those little hooligans straight,” she chuckles and thank god she doesn’t hear my heart hitting my shoes because I’m having some form of out of body freak out hearing her name.
Hearing the name of her kids.
I manage to keep it together just as long it takes for her to leave and then my brain explodes.
Oh.
My.
Freaking.
God.
I’ve just told my whole sex saga to Lachlan’s own mother.
I called him a walking sex hormone!
Discovering the guy I’ve had the best sex of my life with was in actual fact one of my students was pretty shock inducing.
Meeting the mother of said student and unbeknownst to me spilling all the details … yeah, all the blood drains out of my head.
Kill me now, God. I have nothing left to live for.
I immediately hit a number in my phone and wait for Cali to pick up.
“Oh my god, I need help.”
“What is it? Are you hurt? Arrested?”
“Worse. I just told Lachlan’s mom I was basically having sex with her son.”
Everything pours out of me in a hushed, manic-run on sentences, without taking breaths.
Panic is not the word. I zap right by panic and now I’m wondering how I get into witness protection.
Cali is no goddamn help. She laughs for a full two minutes.
I’m so screwed. What freaking possessed me to blurt out my relationship to a complete stranger?
