We’re tangled limbs and low grunts and moans. He nibbles and licks and bites my nipples. I want all themarks.
Lifting up on his knees, he raises my hips, and that angle has megasping.
“Toomuch?”
“No! Don’t stop.” It’s hitting the perfect angle—something deep in my body, a spot that has me arching into him as he watches his length slide in and out ofme.
I reach between us and run my fingers over his thick erection, loving how his eyes go a little wild and he starts pumping faster. Deeper. I press my palm into my clit andgrind.
“That’s it, baby. Getthere.”
My legs start to quake, and I feel him jerk inside me as we detonatetogether.
I yank him down to me, holding him close as heat sears through my body. He burrows his face in my neck. Holds me tight as hecomes.
After a minute, he rolls us to the side, and I laugh. “You’re dripping out ofme.”
He lifts his head, his hair a sexy, disheveled mess. “That’s the hottest thing you’ve eversaid.”
My smile is so wide, even after we clean up and he spoons me frombehind.
“Love you, my sweet cupcake,” his low voice rumbles in myear.
Reaching back, I run my fingers through his hair. “Love you too, Romeo. Thanks for coming to my rescue freshmanyear.”
Squeezing me tighter, he whispers, “My Juliet never needed me to rescueher.”
I close my eyes, but the smile on my faceremains.
Epilogue
CHARLOTTE
The stadium is aboutto erupt. Riveted, Bronco fans count down the clock. We’re up by four points, but LSU has the ball with thirty secondsleft.
It’s been a high-scoring game. Jake and Ezra have been on fire today, connecting for three touchdowns. Jake’s rushing stats are going to be off the charts. Even though I’m not Ezra’s biggest fan because of what’s going on with Roxy, I’m thrilled it’s not affecting his performance. Because the team deserves this victory even though I want to punch him in thethroat.
I peer over at Roxy, who’s doing a non-tumbling routine on the field. She finally came clean to her cheer coach about being pregnant, but told her squad she’s recovering from a bad stomach virus so they wouldn’t question why she’s not at the top of the pyramid. It’s nobody’s business anyway. This is the championship game, so she’ll have time to figure out what she’s going todo.
Houston is a lovely fifty degrees. Since we’re only about four hours from Charming, I swear half the town drove out here. Those who couldn’t get tickets are having the tailgating party of theirlives.
The best part is Jake’s mom, brothers, and Asher are in the audience. Jake hasn’t mentioned it, but I know it means the world to him to have his family here. Since he finally opened up to David about the crap going on with my sister, they’ve both realized there’s been a lot of miscommunication messing up theirrelationship.
David swears he’s never been down on Jake playing football and that he’s proud of him. Jake realizes David missed his games in high school because he was always working and trying to keep their family afloat. They have a long way to go before they’re close, but I’m hopeful it’s on thehorizon.
When the other team snaps the ball, my heart pounds as the Tigers find an opening in ourdefense.
“No!”
I remind myself to take photos and thankfully capture the moment Billy takes that dudedown.
After Jake’s public request to reinstate me as one of the team’s student photographers, I sought out AD Armstrong to argue my case. Jake is helping me realize I need to advocate for myself more. Getting pushed around by my sister for so long taught me to give in whenever someone gets bossy. I’m planning to see a therapist soon to try to work through some of myissues.
But the silver lining is the athletic director relented on the condition I have an escort on the field in case any weirdo gets out of hand. I glance at the enormous lineman who’s been my shadow all day. Otto is a redshirted freshman, who’s psyched he gets to attend the playoffs. It’s a win-win for both ofus.
In return for his company, I’ve promised to introduce him to some of Roxy’s friends. Despite his size, he’s a shy guy. I canrelate.
Jake says Coach isn’t mad at him for that impromptu press conference attendance. Since Kota’s last episode aired, she’s been surprisingly quiet on social media, so things quieted down for the team. Which was exactly what they needed as they headed into theplayoffs.
